Why Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?
The Kansas City offense averages 29.1 points per game, ranking first in the NFL. Patrick Mahomes ranks first in passing yards each contest.
Mahomes throws over 305 yards each game. What’s interesting is that no wide receiver has emerged as a deep threat. In fact, Andy Reid has started to employ three tight-end sets.
The rushing attack is okay but not great. Reid uses the rush to keep defenses honest.
The stats say Kansas City’s defense isn’t bad. But the Chiefs have allowed 24 points or more in 4 of their last 5 games. The only offense KC stopped was Seattle’s.
Denver scored 28 points and then 24. Houston scored 24. The Bengals scored 27 in a Kansas City loss. The defense has talent but it doesn’t always play up to expectations.
Why Bet on the Las Vegas Raiders?
Throw out all Las Vegas offensive stats except for the ones the O posted last Sunday. Before Jarrett Stidham doesn’t matter.
The former New England backup quarterback proved Josh McDaniel was right when benching Derek Carr. Stidham threw for 365 yards and 3 TDs. Sure, Jarrett tossed a pair of interceptions. But he had the best game of any Raiders’ QB this season.
If Stidham is the answer at QB, the Raiders offense should play well on Saturday.
The Raiders rank twenty-ninth in passing yards allowed per game, which is one of the reasons KC is a -9.5 road favorite. Opponents average close to 247 passing yards per against Las Vegas.
Maxx Crosby does have 11.5 sacks. Crosby faces double-teams on every play. If someone else can pressure Mahomes, and Maxx gets one-on-on matchups, Crosby could get to KC’s quarterback.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Betting Trends
- Chiefs are 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games.
- Kansas City is 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 after a straight up win.
- Over is 4-0 in Kansas City’s last 4 versus the AFC West.
- Raiders are 6-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
- Las Vegas is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games at home.
- Over is 5-1 in Las Vegas’ last 6 home games.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Expert Betting Predictions
On paper, Mahomes and the Chiefs should have success throwing all day on the Raiders’ defense. It might happen.
Even if it does, the Raiders are the play to cover. Las Vegas faces a team that’s a terrible 1-10-1 against the spread in their last 12 games after a straight up victory.
Not only that, but KC has allowed too many points to much worse offenses in the last month. The problem with facing the Raiders is that Jacobs can break tackles as well as any player in the NFL.
So unless KC gang tackles Josh, he’ll have a great day. If the Chiefs expend too much energy on Jacobs, Stidham will burn KC’s secondary. The Raiders will have a chance to win this straight up. Taking the points makes sense.
