It’s a close race for the best odds to win the China Qualifier between Royal Never Give Up and the next team on the list. RNG almost has a 300-point lead in the regional standings as we speak, and it’s rightfully the top-seeded entry in the CN Qualifier. The leader of China’s Division II standings, CDEC, is one sleeper candidate that deserves more recognition. The team secured a victory at the DPC CN Tour 3: Division II event in July and enters the China Qualifier with a five-match win streak in tow at that. It’s been quite some time since CDEC took the national spotlight by surprise as the runner-up in The International back in 2015, but perhaps it’s time for this upstart Chinese squad to make another underdog run at TI.

Participating in just three tournaments this year puts ShenZhen in a tough position at the China Qualifier as part of the long path in the lower portion of the bracket. Outside a fourth-place finish at the aforementioned DPC CN Tour 2: Division II tournament, ShenZhen hasn’t done much to help itself as more than a longshot pick to win the CN Qualifier, to everyone’s surprise.
