Why Bet on the Atlanta Hawks?

The Hawks continue their five-game road run in Portland paired with a healthy-looking lineup. Donovan Williams is the only player on the injury list since the forward picked up a knee issue in his latest outing. Other than that, Atlanta’s starting five are ready to challenge the 12th-best Western Conference side.

It’s always enjoyable to watch the duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray light up the floor with their scoring abilities. Young leads the team in points and assists with 27.18 and 9.89 per game, respectively. Meanwhile, the former Spurs man records 20.80 points per game in 45 appearances for Atlanta. Clint Capela tops the rebounding stat with 11.38 boards per game to go with his 12.26 points per game average, while Bogdanovic remains a reliable scoring option with 15.12 points per game. This takes the Hawks up to the ninth-best scoring record right now with 116.0 points per game on 47.8% shooting.

The other end of the spectrum shows Atlanta limiting its opponents to 116.6 points per game on 47.6% shooting. They also put up averages of 50.3 total rebounds to go with 4.9 blocks per game.

Why Bet on the Portland Trail Blazers?

The Blazers have two of their injured starters day-to-day: Josh Hart (Hamstring) and Jusuf Nurkic (Calf). If the pair doesn’t get the green light on Monday night, it’s going to cause head coach Chauncey Billups and the rest of the squad some problems. Portland faced several issues in the past few weeks and are hurting from their 18-point loss to the Raptors in their most recent outing.

The hosts average 113.8 points per game on 48.1% shooting. Damian Lillard heavily influences the team’s offensive figures. He leads the team in points and assists with 30.11 and 7.32, respectively. Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant provide ample scoring support with scoring averages north of 20 points per game. As a team, the Blazers hit 55.3% of their two-point attempts and hold a seventh-best three-point shooting record at 37.4%.

Defensively, Portland holds its opponents to 113.5 points per game. Although this did not show in their latest outing, it’s encouraging to find that they also put the work on this end of the court. With that, the Blazers hold opponents to 47.9% shooting, featuring 54.5% from short and mid-range, and 36.5% from downtown. Furthermore, the squad collects 50.2 total boards to go with 4.3 blocks per game.

Hawks vs. Trail Blazers Expert Betting Prediction

The NBA features another pairing that has very little between them. It’s tricky to provide a definite winner given that this is their first matchup of the season. However, this Atlanta squad can easily cover the spread once the offensive side gets things running to a tee. A win is doable for any of the two here, which makes it even more exciting. We expect the scoreline to go down the wire if neither of the two can take off within the first half. The hosts, on the other hand, still carry the slight edge with home advantage giving them that extra push. Ultimately, this is a brawl between some of the most talented guards the league has to offer.
