Why Bet on the Denver Nuggets?

The Nuggets did everything to the tee until they started to collapse in the final quarter of Game 2. Denver shot better from the field at 52.0% and recorded more rebounds and points in the paint at 38 and 48, respectively. However, we saw Jokic do more heavy lifting compared to the opening game. The Serbian big man finished the game with 41 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists for another near triple-double.

The rest of the Nuggets were nowhere to be seen. Jamal Murray scored only 18 points in 39 minutes on the floor, while Aaron Gordon had 12 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Bruce Brown Jr. also had an off night after scoring only 11 points off the bench in contrast to his previous performances.

Denver needs to pull something out of their sleeves to make sure the Heat remains within striking distance. They continue to put up impressive postseason figures as a team. In 16 games, the Nuggets averaged 115.6 points on 49.1% from the field and 38.2% from three-point land. They also have better rebounding and assist stats at 44.3 boards per game and 26.1 dimes. They have the numbers to go up against Miami. However, the gritty and aggressive play style of Miami can shake things up moving forward.

Why Bet on the Miami Heat?

Miami brought the heat to Denver in the fourth quarter. They trailed by eight points entering the fourth quarter, but quickly turned things around and outscored the hosts 36 to 25 to take the win. As a team, the visitors shot 48.7% from the field and nearly 50% from deep at 17 of 35. They also thrived from the line and nailed 18 of 29 free-throw attempts.

Gabe Vincent showcased his talent and led his team with 23 points on eight of 12 shooting. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo scored 21 points apiece, with the former recording team-high assists that night with nine dimes to his name. Furthermore, Kevin Love also displayed his playoff experience and collected a team-best ten rebounds to go with six points.

Despite making only 34 points in the paint, Miami wrapped things up with quality shooting from deep. They were also behind in rebounds and recorded seven fewer boards than the Nuggets. In 19 playoff games, they now average 110.7 points on 46.8% from the field and 38.7% from deep. They are the also inferior side when looking at the rebounding figures, logging just 41.1 total boards and 3.4 blocks per game.
