Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 Straight-Up Overview

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is already one of the best in the league. In his second season, Lawrence led the Jaguars to the playoffs. Trevor completed over 66% of his passes for 4,113 yards. His TD to INT ratio was 25-to-8.

Lawrence is also an accomplished rusher, scoring 5 rushing TDs and averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Trevor’s rushing abilities are important to note because the Jaguars must play their first 4 games this season without Cam Robinson due to a suspension.

Right tackle Walker Little should fill in for Robinson at left tackle. Aron Harrison, a first round pick rookie from Oklahoma, will start at right tackle. Harrison has the skills to be a top NFL player, and Little is solid. But just in case the line struggles early, Lawrence can scramble out of trouble.

It helps that Lawrence has decent receiving targets in Christian Kirk and Zay Jones. Evan Engram is a good tight-end. RB1 Travis Etienne caught 35 passes last season. Etienne will be more involved in the passing game in 2023.

If former Atlanta player Calvin Ridley returns to his best form after taking a year off, the passing attack will be terrific. Lawrence took a huge forward leap towards the end of the regular season. Trevor and the Jags won 6 of their final 7 regular season games. So anything Ridley can add is gravy.

At 20.6 per game, the Jaguars’ defense ranked twelfth in points allowed each contest. The front seven is loaded. Travon Walker, Josh Allen, and Devin Lloyd are three of the best at their positions.

The offense will be great. So any improvement on defense could lead to a special season. The Jags lose 5 games: Kansas City, San Francisco, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Buffalo.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 SU Record Prediction: 12-5

Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 Against the Spread Overview

The Jags went 8-8-1 against the spread in 2022. There hasn’t been enough changes for us to predict a much different against the spread record for 2023.

Jacksonville should win one more game ATS than they lose. The Jags will go 9-8 against the spread this season.

Jacksonville Jaguars ATS Record Prediction: 9-8

Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 Over/Under Overview

The over under went 8-9 last season. This season, a surprise over under record could develop. Most won’t have faith in the Jaguars’ defense considering the teams Jacksonville faces.

But the Jags could lean on their rushing attack versus high-scoring teams like the Bengals and Chiefs. Also, Jacksonville’s AFC South opponents don’t boast offenses anywhere near the Jags’. A 7-10 over/under record on Jaguars’ games is possible.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 Over/Under Record Prediction: 7-10
