Why Bet on the New York Jets?
The New York Jets entered their Week 10 bye at an ultimate high, as they staged one of the biggest upsets of the season by beating the neighboring Buffalo Bills in Week 9, 20-17. New York has won five of its last six games and is well within the thick of the race for the AFC East crown.
Despite another humble showing from second-year quarterback Zach Wilson (18-for-25, 154 passing yards, one passing touchdown), the Jets’ running game was in full force against the Bills’ supposedly stout front seven. New York amassed 174 rushing yards as a team, with the backfield duo of Michael Carter and James Robinson combining for 124 yards on the ground and a rushing TD.
Above all else, head coach (and former San Francisco defensive coordinator) Robert Saleh has his stop unit playing at a top level. In their last four wins, the Jets held each of their opponents to under 27 points apiece, including having shut down potent offenses from the Bills and the Dolphins. They’re also one of only 10 teams thus far to allow an average of under 20 points per game to their opponents this season.
Why Bet on the New England Patriots?
Winners of four of their last five, the New England Patriots are also keeping pace with the rest of the AFC East for the top spot in the standings. Not only did they obliterate the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 before last week’s bye by a final score of 26-3, but they likely forced the firing of former Indy head coach Frank Reich following that blowout.
Mac Jones did just enough under center to secure the win for the Pats, completing 20 of 30 passes for 147 yards and one TD through the air. Like New York, New England’s lack of a passing attack is offset by the running game. However, the Patriots put up just 70 rushing yards against the Colts. At least lead back, Rhamondre Stevenson, still averaged four yards per carry with his 15 touches for 60 rushing yards.
It goes without saying that the Patriots’ strong defensive performance got them the win over Indianapolis. A pick-six by cornerback Jonathan Jones sealed the win in the fourth quarter for the Pats, who are also allowing under 20 points per game to their opponents this season (18.6 PAPG – seventh in the league). Their 17 forced turnovers is also tied for the third-most in the NFL.

- The Jets are 2-1 in the last three divisional games but are 2-13 against their AFC East rivals since 2020 (5-10 ATS).
- The totals went under in New York’s last four outings.
- The Patriots are 6-3 in the last nine home games (SU/ATS).
- The Pats have won 13 straight meetings against the Jets dating back to the 2016 season (9-4 ATS).
- The totals went over in eight of the last 10 games played in Foxborough.
Jets vs. Patriots Expert Betting Predictions
In a virtual mirror match against teams with similar strengths and weaknesses, the home team is usually the one with the edge in the matchup. The Patriots have also owned the Jets for the better part of the past half-decade, and this fact will likely warrant more bets in favor of Bill Belichick’s gang to make it 14 straight victories over the Jets this Sunday.
