Knicks vs. Nets 2022 NBA Odds and Preview – November 9th

By Jeff Stinger

Two teams from New York duke it out on Wednesday night as the Knicks walk inside the Barclays Center to try and outpace the Nets. The visitors look good after a 13-point victory over the Timberwolves in their previous outing, which evens out their season record at 5-5. Meanwhile, the hosts received tough love from the Mavs and lost their seventh game of the season. KD and interim coach Jacque Vaughn look to bounce back from the defeat following the tough road loss.

Why Bet on the New York Knicks?

The Knicks start to pick up the pace following two impressive wins over the Timberwolves and the Sixers. This should be enough to give them the confidence to challenge the Nets on the road. Starting shooting guard Quentin Grimes might not suit up for Wednesday night’s game due to a foot injury, while big man Mitchell Robinson will sit the game out with a sprained right knee. Jericho Sims fills in for him come game night.

New York averages 115.0 points per game. This is good for a tenth-best record in the league. They registered 46.3% shooting in ten games, making 53.8% of their looks from close and mid-range but struggled to hit three balls at 33.9%. Meanwhile, the Knicks record the second-best rebounding record at 57.8 boards per game. The lineup holds opponents to 115.0 points per game and an even more impressive 43.5% shooting.

Why Bet on the Brooklyn Nets?

With all the lineup issues the Nets are facing, it’s down to Kevin Durant once again. The forward dropped 26 points, four rebounds, and four assists in their losing efforts against the Mavs and leads the team in scoring. KD averages 31 points per game on 37.4 minutes on the floor, which leaves him plenty of responsibility on Wednesday night’s action. Meanwhile, Irving’s starting guard spot is filled in by Edmond Summer.

On the offensive side, the Nets average 110.5 points per game on 47.6% shooting. They are the fourth-best free throw shooting right now and make 81.9% of their shots from the line. Defensively, the Nets keep opponents under 112.0 points per game and limit opponent shooting to 45.0%. They also have solid interior defense and hold opponents to 49.0% two-point shooting. Although we see decent numbers coming from both ends of the floor, there’s still a lack of pace and depth coming from this team.

Knicks vs. Nets Betting Trends

  • The Knicks are 6-4 in the last ten road games (7-3 ATS).
  • The Knicks are 2-3 in the last five games (2-3 ATS).
  • The totals went over in three of the Knicks’ last five road games against the Nets.
  • The Nets are 4-6 in the last ten games at Barclays Center (1-9 ATS).
  • The Nets are 7-3 in the last ten home games against the Knicks (1-9 ATS).
  • The totals went under in three of the Nets’ last five home games.

Knicks vs. Nets Expert Betting Prediction

The Nets are on and off in the early weeks. Kyrie Irving’s suspension also hits the offensive sting of the team, while Ben Simmons’ inconsistency remains a vulnerable spot in Brooklyn’s defense. While they maintain ahead of the Knicks on paper, we expect the scoreline to stay close throughout the game. New York looks to gain some momentum leading up to Wednesday’s clash. They also have a deeper squad despite not having Mitchell Robinson in the mix. Covering the spread should be doable for the side. The Knicks can also fight for the road win if KD fails to keep the offensive pace flowing.
