Why is Manchester City a safe bet to win?

City shows 2 draws and a loss in their last 5. But we shouldn’t hold the loss or the draws against the Champions League favorite. One of the draws was versus Atletico in the second-leg of a quarterfinals battle. The other draw happened versus fellow Champions League Semifinal participant Liverpool. The 3-2 loss to Liverpool happened because goalie Zack Steffen played instead of usual starting keeper Ederson.

When Ederson played against Brighton, the Sky Blues dominated. Pep Guardiola has paced his team in the past couple of months. He wants his fellas fresh for both a run to the Premier title and a Champions League trophy.

Because this happens at Etihad Stadium, we should expect Pep to try and grab a lead on the aggregate. Ederson should be in goal and De Bruyne, Foden, Mahrez, Stirling, and Grealish will get plenty of touches.

Possible Line-Up

  • Ederson
  • Cancelo
  • Stones
  • Laporte
  • Zinchenko
  • De Bruyne
  • Rodri
  • Gundogan
  • Silva
  • Jesus
  • Sterling

Manchester City’s Last 5

  • Win – 3-0 vs. Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Loss – 2-3 vs. Liverpool
  • Draw – 0-0 vs. Atletico Madrid
  • Draw – 2-2 vs. Liverpool
  • Win – 1-0 vs. Atletico Madrid

Why is Real Madrid a safe bet to win?

Real is in excellent form. The Primera Division power has dominated their opponents winning 4-of-5. One of the more impressive victories happened versus Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. In their first leg of their 2-leg Champions League Quarterfinals aggregate, Real beat Chelsea 3-1.

Even though Chelsea returned the favor with a 3-2 victory on Real’s pitch, the damage had been done. Real won on the aggregate. Since losing to the Blues in the second leg, Real has beaten rival Sevilla and dominated Osasuna. RM is ready for the challenge and has the look of an underdog with a chance.

Possible Line-Up

  • Courtois
  • Carvajal
  • Militao
  • Alaba
  • Mendy
  • Modric
  • Casemiro
  • Kroos
  • Asensio
  • Benzema
  • Vinicius

Real Madrid’s Last 5

  • Win – 1-3 vs. Osasuna
  • Win – 2-3 vs. Sevilla
  • Loss – 2-3 vs. Chelsea
  • Win – 2-0 vs. Getafe
  • Win – 1-3 vs. Chelsea

Manchester City vs. Real Madrid Betting Prediction

When at full strength, Manchester City is close to impossible to beat. The Sky Blues are loaded at every position. Name another team that’s deep enough to bring Phil Foden, Raheem Stirling, Jack Grealish, and Gabriel Jesus off the bench. The Citizens are as deep as any team in any UEFA league. But although Man City is deep and can play multiple lineups that will give Real trouble, the Sky Blues do not head into this playing their best.

The 3-0 win over Brighton impresses somewhat. But the Blues struggled against Liverpool. And in the match before, Atletico, which isn’t as good as Real, forced a 0-0 draw. The Sky Blues are tired. That’s the biggest problem. Battling Liverpool twice in the last 4 matches had to have taken something out of Manchester City. Real may not play well enough to win this match.

But they should keep it close. Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is flying high. RM mustn’t worry about a rival beating them and taking the LaLiga. So Real can concentrate on the Champions League. But, again, Real may not play well enough to win this match. So the best bet is Real Madrid +1 +102.
