Tua’s Time to Make A Huge Splash
Dolphins fans have waited two years for young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to have his breakout season. The fifth-overall pick at the 2020 NFL Draft played in just 13 regular-season games due to some minor bouts with injury, and has yet to put together a completely healthy campaign in his young professional career. Nevertheless, Tagovailoa is currently a decent +5,000 sleeper candidate to win the 2022 NFL MVP award, thanks in large part to his weapons at hand.
One of those weapons in Tua’s arsenal is speedy wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who was acquired by Miami in a massive deal this offseason. Hill was Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target in Kansas City ever since the two came together in 2018, with the three-time First-Team All-Pro selection coming off back-to-back 1,200-yard receiving seasons. In turn, Hill is a solid +15,000 sleeper MVP candidate to date.
Another wideout in Jaylen Waddle joins Hill in the conversation of the Fins’ dark horse MVP candidates in their receiving corps. Waddle, a fine +20,000 sleeper pick as we speak, made waves in his rookie campaign by reconnecting with his former QB in ‘Bama to give Tua a nice confidence boost. Miami’s sixth-overall pick in last year’s draft turned out to be a gem indeed, as Waddle finished his debut season with 104 catches, 1,015 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns.
Updated Dolphins’ Super Bowl LVII Odds
As of this writing, the Dolphins are +3,545 sleepers to win Super Bowl LVII. They currently share the same odds to win the Lombardi Trophy with the likes of other fringe playoff contenders such as the Las Vegas Raiders New England Patriots, and New Orleans Saints. Miami also has the second-best odds to win the AFC East division crown this year at +400; just slightly ahead of the aforementioned Patriots in the race at +425.
