Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy Chances to Win the 2024 NFL Rookie of the Year
The odds on McCarthy aren’t bad. But to win NFL Rookie of the Year as a quarterback, you must post C.J. Stroud numbers. Not only must your stats compare to Stroud’s from last season, but you must win games.
McCarthy may require a season, or two, to move into the starting spot. The Vikings appear set to keep J.J. on the bench until maybe halfway through the season. McCarthy will benefit from throwing the ball to Justin Jefferson and tight end T.J. Hockenson, but he won’t benefit enough to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Vikings WR Justin Jefferson Chances to win the 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year
Jefferson is one of the favorites to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year. If Kirk Cousins had remained his quarterback, he’d be a decent play at +1000. But with Sam Darnold or rookie J.J. McCarthy throwing him the pigskin, it’s difficult to see JJ taking home the trophy.
No doubt, Jefferson is one of the league’s top wide receivers. He’s an exceptional player. But the quarterback situation in Minnesota is in flux. So Jefferson won’t post the stats that many expect.
Minnesota Vikings Chances to Win the 2024 NFC North Division
The Vikings went from a favorite to win their division in 2023 to the longest shot on the board to win the NFC North in 2024. Detroit is the class of the North.
Green Bay and Chicago should have decent teams. If Detroit fails, Minnesota might have a shot, but the division is much better in 2024 than it was last season. At +950, Minnesota isn’t a good play to win the NFC North.
Miami Dolphins Chances to Win the 2024 NFC Conference
The odds on Minnesota to win the National Football Conference are about right. A lot of things would have to go right for the Vikings and wrong for teams like the Lions, Cowboys, Eagles, and 49ers for Minnesota to win the conference.
The Vikings have a lack of talent on both sides of the football. In addition to losing Cousins, Minnesota also lost Danielle Hunter, one of the better edge rushers in the NFL. The Vikings won’t win the NFC.

The NFC isn’t as deep as the AFC when it comes to Super Bowl contenders. The conference is deeper than the NFC when it comes to wildcard playoff contenders. Minnesota doesn’t qualify at this point because three teams in their division have more of a chance to make the playoffs than the Vikings.
So do the Falcons, Buccaneers, and Saints, three teams from the NFC South. And so do the Cowboys, Eagles, Commanders, and L.A. Rams. Competition for the wildcard this season will be tough, which is why Minnesota is a play against to make the NFL postseason.

The 5 wins should happen at the New York Giants, versus Arizona, versus Chicago, at Tennessee, and at Seattle. The Vikings go under the total.
Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl 49 Prediction
For some reason, the Dolphins offer underlaid odds in most of their future and prop options. 24-to-1 odds on a team like the Fins, who play in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, to win the Super Bowl constitute underlay odds.
Tua Tagovailoa is a good quarterback. But he hasn’t shown the ability to be one of the league’s best. Not only that, the AFC is deep with talented signal callers. Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson reside in the AFC.
Those five quarterbacks could be considered the best five in the NFL. Tua is bound to run into one or two of those quarterbacks should the Dolphins make the playoffs. The bet is no on the Miami Dolphins to win the 2025 Super Bowl.
