Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Braves start Max Fried while the Dodgers send Walker Buehler to the mound. Fried has had a couple of terrible starts. His ERA is a bad 5.73 and the ATL lost both games. Buehler’s ERA isn’t as dominant as it was last season. So far after a couple of starts, he’s got a 3.38 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. The key in this game, though, is bat versus pitch. Buehler dominates the ATL while the Dodgers’ bats dominate Fried. Don’t be surprised if LAD wins this by at least 2.

The Halos head to Houston hoping to grab a victory. Los Angeles sends their ace, Shohei Ohtani, to the mound. So far, Shohei hasn’t had a great season on the mounds. He’s 0-2 with a 7.56 ERA and 1.56 WHIP. On Wednesday, he faces one of the most feared lineups in the AL. The Stros counter Shohei with Jake Odorizzi. The former Tampa Bay Ray hasn’t thrown lights out, either. Eventually, Ohtani gets it together. The Angels are the pick.

San Francisco Giants vs. New York Mets

The Giants send Anthony DeSclafani to the mound. SF’s starter has thrown in a couple of no- decisions so far this season. His ERA is 4.32 while his WHIP is 1.68. DeSclafani could return to his best form in this. He’s faced Mets’ batters 77 times, holding NYM to a .142 batting average. The Mets counter DeSclafani with former St. Louis Cardinal Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco has thrown great in a couple of starts. His ERA is an unbelievable .084. But the Mets lost both games due to their bullpen. If DeSclafani can keep SF in this early, the Giants could take the win.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Neither the Phillies’ Ranger Suarez nor the Brewers’ Freddy Peralta have thrown well so far this season. Both have ERAs that point to an over game. Peralta’s ERA is 11.57. The WHIP is an outrageous 2.29. Philly starter Suarez has a lower ERA, 5.87, but it’s still not great. But Suarez improved from his first start versus the Mets to his second start agianst the Marlins. More importantly, the Phillies won both starts and Bryce Harper and his mates bat .284 against Peralta. Here’s another this week where the run line might be the way to go.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Houston Astros

When the Blue Jays battle the Astros, it will be a good opportunity to back the Jays to grab a road victory. Toronto starter Alek Manoah has thrown great this season. Manoah is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and a .92 WHIP. He’s struck out 13 in 12 innings. In his first start, he gave up 1 hit to the Yankees in a 3-0 Toronto victory. The Stros, because this happens on their diamond, should offer underlay odds. Whether the Jays are the chalk or not, they’re the team to back.

Two of the best pitchers in the National League face-off on Sunday when Friars’ flame thrower Sean Manaea welcomes Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers. Kershaw was unreal in his first start, yielding 0 hits in 7 innings while striking out 13. But the game was against Minnesota. San Diego bats much better than Kershaw, throwing up a .255 team BA. Manaea has found his best pitches. His ERA is an excellent 1.38. In limited at bats, the Dodgers have taken Manaea to town, LAD bats over .300 against SD’s starter. But Sean looks like a different pitcher this season than in past seasons. The Friars take this.
