Similar to the East, though, the rest of the West’s playoff picture likely won’t be decided until the final week of play. Meanwhile, the Mavericks are freefalling at the worst possible moment, losing seven of their last eight games and now in danger of missing the play-in tournament altogether. That same day, the Raptors guaranteed themselves a spot in no worse than the play-in tournament. Toronto will likely have to compete with the Hawks for the No. 8 seed in the East. Both teams are currently tied with identical 39-39 records, while the Bulls aren’t far behind in the race for the eighth seed as well being only one game behind these two playoff hopefuls. Atlanta and Chicago have yet to clinch their respective places in the playoffs and/or play-in tournament.
