Why Bet on the Denver Nuggets?

The Nuggets enter having won three straight and nine of 10 after a 125-119 win over Toronto on Monday in a game that was much closer than it should have been with the Raptors missing several starters. Toronto led by as many as 21 early in the third quarter and the Nuggets trailed 107-104 with 7:59 left but scored eight straight points to take the lead for good. It was only the third time since 1997-98 in which Denver trailed by 21+ points in the third quarter and won.

Jokic finished with 35 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists to help Denver improve to 9-1 since the All-Star break. Jokic, who has 126 career triple-doubles, also had a season-high six steals, four in the third quarter when the Nuggets outscored Toronto 42-30.

Murray had 26 points, 12 assists and five rebounds against his hometown team; he had 12 of his 26 points in the fourth. t. The double-double was Murray’s ninth of the season, with five of them coming since the beginning of February. Over 14 games during that stretch, he’s averaging 21.1 points, 7.2 assists and 4.5 rebounds.

Jokic and Murray each recorded 25+ points and 10+ assists for the fourth time as teammates during the regular season and postseason. It marks the most by a duo in NBA history. It was also just the second time in NBA history that two teammates had 25+ points and 12+ assists in the same game.

Porter had 19 points and eight rebounds and was matched up against his brother Jontay Porter for the first time in their careers on an NBA court. Michael Porter has scored at least 19 points in seven of 10 games since the All-Star break, averaging 20.1 points and 7.7 boards in that span while shooting 54.8 percent from the floor and 40.8 percent from beyond the arc. Porter has 30 games this season with at least eight rebounds and Denver is 23-7 in them.

Why Bet on the Miami Heat?

Miami clearly was looking ahead to this game when it was stunned at home Sunday by terrible Washington, 110-108, the Heat’s third straight loss. It was the Wizards’ first road victory since Jan. 29, ending an eight-game skid away from home. Butler had 23 points in a losing effort and Adebayo 16 points and 16 rebounds. It was the eighth time this season he had at least 15 boards but only his second double-double since the All-Star break.

Miami is allowing just 109.9 points per game this season, the sixth-least in the NBA, and have held opponents to under their season scoring averages in 16 of their last 17 games, doing so by an average of -11.3 points per game over that span.

Guard Duncan Robinson is just six made three-point field goals short from the 1,000th of his career. He has played 340 career games and looks to become the fastest player in NBA history to connect on their 1,000th trey as Buddy Hield holds the current record in his 350th game. Patty Mills is a +22 plus/minus in his two games with the Heat after being signed off waivers./p>

The Heat were without Tyler Herro and Kevin Love again Sunday due to injury and both will sit Wednesday. Herro is the biggest deal and hasn’t played since Feb. 23, first due to a knee injury and now due to right foot medial tendinitis. Miami is 20-15 all-time in regular-season home games vs. Denver.
