Why Patrick Mahomes Will Win the Super Bowl LVII MVP Award
As arguably the face of the NFL, expectations are high on Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to not only win his second Super Bowl title in five years but to also win his second Super Bowl MVP award. Given Mahomes’ history of putting out jaw-dropping performances on a weekly basis, chances are high once more that he’ll take home some hardware along with the Lombardi trophy should the Chiefs indeed secure the victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on February 12.
Nitrobetting is ready to equip its bettors with the latest news, NFL odds, and special features for the duration of the 2022-23 NFL season. Let’s make a case for Patrick Mahomes’ chances of winning the Super Bowl LVII award in two weeks’ time.
3 Reasons Why Patrick Mahomes Will Win the Super Bowl LVII MVP Award
Been There, Done That
As mentioned in our intro, Mahomes is no stranger to reaching the summit of the NFL mountain. He won his first-ever Super Bowl along with his maiden Super Bowl MVP award almost just three years ago to the day and is back for more even with a slightly revamped offensive roster. Mahomes even has a league MVP under his belt and could very well win it all again this season, so his countless accolades in such a short period of time make him the prime candidate to win the Super Bowl LVII MVP award.
No Pain, No Gain
Literally Hurting Mahomes’ chances of adding to his collection of awards is that he’s dealing with an ankle sprain that he suffered during the AFC Championship Game against the Bengals. He was able to play out the rest of the game without showing signs that he was under stress, which is a testament to the 27-year-old gunslinger’s toughness. The two-week break leading up to SB 57 only benefits his recovery from the injury and, even if he’s not in full strength against the Eagles, the tenacity he displayed while playing hurt in the AFC Championship Game will still amount to more than the floor and ceiling of production from an average NFL QB.
My Bieniemy is Your Enemy
There’s no denying that Mahomes’ skills on the field can be attributed to the hard work he has put in to be at the top of the game. However, credit should also go to Kansas City’s offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for calling the right plays and creating unique schemes for Mahomes to work his magic. Bieniemy has been a part of Andy Reid’s coaching staff since Reid assumed the position of head coach in 2013 and has been highly instrumental to Mahomes’ rapid growth in the pros. He’s also far from done at guiding Mahomes toward the pinnacle of greatness, beginning with their partnership getting another crack at the Lombardi Trophy.
