Rams vs. Cardinals 2021 NFL Week 14 Odds, Preview and Pick
Huge game in the NFC West on Monday as the first-place Arizona Cardinals host the second-place Los Angeles Rams. If the Cardinals win to complete the season sweep, the division race is over. If the Rams win, it’s a fight to the finish.
The Cardinals would make the NFL playoff for the first time since 2015 with a win or tie against the Rams on Monday Night Football. Arizona would basically clinch the NFC West with a victory, although not officially yet, because they beat the Rams 37-20 in Week 4.
That snapped the Cards’ eight-game losing streak in the series. They didn’t turn the ball over and had 465 yards of offense. Kyler Murray had 268 yards and two touchdown passes. James Conner scored two touchdowns and Chase Edmonds rushed for 120 yards. Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 26 of 41 pass attempts for 280 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Wide receivers Van Jefferson and Robert Woods were on the receiving end of Stafford’s pair of touchdown passes. Woods is now out for the year.

Why Bet on the LA Rams?
The Rams snapped a three-game skid by blowing out the Jaguars 37-7 last week. Stafford completed 26-of-38 passes for 295 yards and three scores. Cooper Kupp caught 8-of-10 targets for 129 yards and one score.
Kupp leads the NFL in receptions (100), receiving yards (1,366) and receiving touchdowns (11) this season. He is just the fourth player with at least 100 receptions in his team’s first 12 games of a season in NFL history, joining Michael Thomas (110 receptions in 2019), Marvin Harrison (109 in 2002) and Julio Jones (102 in 2015). However, Kupp is the only player ever with at least 100 receptions and 10-or-more touchdown receptions in his team’s first 12 games of a season.
Kupp is the third player with at least 1,350 receiving yards in his team’s first 12 games of a season in the Super Bowl era, joining Calvin Johnson (1,428 receiving yards in 2012) and Torry Holt (1,387 in 2003).
With top running back Darrell Henderson banged up, Sony Michel rushed 24 times for 121 yards and one score, hauling in 3-of-4 targets for eight receiving yards. Michel logged a season-high 97% of the Rams’ and the first 100-rushing yard game by a Ram this season. Against the Jaguars, Los Angeles deployed more diverse and heavier personnel packages than in 11 games prior, combined. Joe Noteboom aligned as a sixth offensive lineman. Brycen Hopkins and Kendall Blanton joined Tyler Higbee as attached tight ends.
Why Bet on the Arizona Cardinals?
In last Sunday’s 33-22 win in Chicago, Murray totaled four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) in his return from a three-game injury absence. Murray now has 10,092 career passing yards and became the fourth-youngest player (24 years, 120 days old) to reach 10,000 in NFL history, surpassing Cam Newton (24 years, 191 days). Only Drew Bledsoe (23 years, 299 days), Jameis Winston (23 years, 303 days) and Dan Marino (24 years, 63 days) reached the mark at a younger age.
Murray has 13 career games with both a passing and rushing touchdown since entering the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick in 2019, tied with Dak Prescott (13 games) for the third-most such games by a quarterback in his first three seasons all-time. Newton (20 games) and Josh Allen (16) have more. Murray now has 20 career rushing touchdowns and has joined Newton (28) and Allen (25) as the only quarterbacks with at least 20 in their first three seasons in the Super Bowl era.
The Cards could get an offensive weapon back in Edmonds on Monday as he has been designated to return from injured reserve. The move officially opens Edmonds’ 21-day practice window to be activated from injured reserve. Edmonds has not played since he sprained his ankle on the opening play against San Francisco in Week 9. Edmonds has recorded 641 yards from scrimmage this year — 430 rushing, 211 receiving — and a touchdown.
