Why Bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers?
History was once again on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ side, as they came out on top of their divisional showdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 2, 26-22. The Steelers have won 15 straight home games when the Browns are in town, but they’ll now have to put their mettle back on the road with a tricky matchup in Sin City this weekend.
Kenny Pickett had another middling performance under center, completing just half of his 30 pass attempts for 222 yards, one passing touchdown, and one interception. Pittsburgh’s running game was virtually non-existent for the second straight week as well, with the team only gaining 55 yards on the ground on 21 carries (2.6 YPC).
Luckily, the Steelers have a former Defensive Player of the Year in T.J. Watt to keep them from falling apart. Watt’s sack fumble of Deshaun Watson led to a go-ahead fumble recovery for a touchdown by the All-Pro stud with under seven minutes left in the contest. Pittsburgh needs another solid outing from its opportunistic defense on SNF, and the Raiders do have a questionable offense worth exploiting at that.
Why Bet on the Las Vegas Raiders?
After a close one-point victory in Week 1, the Las Vegas Raiders met their match in Week 2 in the form of the Buffalo Bills, who decimated them in Orchard Park, 38-10. Las Vegas simply could not get anything else going after taking an early seven-point lead in the first quarter with a patented Jimmy Garoppolo touchdown pass to Davante Adams.
Garoppolo ended up with just 185 passing yards and that one TD pass along with a pair of picks. Josh Jacobs, who led the all running backs in yards from scrimmage last season, was stifled by a Bills defense to the tune of negative-two yards on nine carries. Jacobs did see his fair share of throws from Jimmy G with five catches for 51 yards, but he’s more needed in the running game than in desperate check-down situations.
Giving up 38 points and 450 yards of offense to Buffalo sends Vegas’ defense back to their old, underwhelming form. The shaky Steelers offense should be a nice change of pace for the team as it tries to replicate its more sound performance in Week 1 when they held the Broncos to just 260 total yards.

- The totals went over in five of the last seven games played in Vegas.
Steelers vs. Raiders Expert Betting Predictions
These two teams have respective flaws that will likely lead to a wild and entertaining primetime game despite the relative lack of elite talent on the field. We predict that the Steelers’ defense will come up huge once more and prevail with a road upset of the Raiders. These two will be gunning it out in the air for a turnover-filled, low-scoring affair as well with both of their running games remaining in flux.
