ATP – Generali Open – Kitzbuhel, Austria
Lorenzo Sonego vs. Pablo Andujar
The chalk doesn’t have a cakewalk. Sonego lost his last couple of first round matches. The favorite did win a couple of matches at Wimbledon. Pablo Andujar has lost six first round matches in a row. Twice, Andujar fell to Ugo Humbert. Andujar should win this match.
Tennis Betting Pick: Pablo Andujar +153
Gerald Melzer vs. Yannick Hanfmann
Melzer won a couple of matches to stamp the ticket to this first round matchup. Melzer beat Ivan Gakhov and Hamad Medjedovic. Hanfmann won 2 matches to make the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad in his last. Hanfmann beat Cristian Garin 6-3, 6-4 in the first round before falling to Nicolas Jarry. Hanfmann should win this no problem. But Melzer is hot. The +170 chalk can pull off the upset win.
Tennis Betting Pick: Gerald Melzer +170
Nicolas Jarry vs. Pedro Martinez Portero
Martinez Portero won his first couple of matches at the EFG Swiss Open, beating Elias Ymer and Carlos Taberner. Martinez fell to Matteo Berrettini, the world’s fourteenth ranked player.
Jarry beat Thiago Monteiro in the first round at the EFG Swiss Open and then in the second round took down Yannick Hanfmann. This can go either way. Jarry offers slightly better odds. So Nicolas gets the nod.
Tennis Betting Pick: Nicolas Jarry +102
WTA – Prague Open – Prague, Czech Republic
Anna Blinkova vs. Barbora Krejčíková
23-year-old Russian player Anna Blinkova played well to make the Ladies Open Lausanne. Blinkova fell to Erika Andreeva in the first round. But making the tournament is a nice accomplishment.
Barbora Krejčíková, though, is a major step up. Krejcikova won her first couple of matches at the Hamburg European Open before falling to Anastasia Potapova. Krejcikova is 13-9 overall in singles titles this season. The chalk covers the -6.
Tennis Betting Pick: Barbora Krejcikova -6 -103
Daria Snigur vs. Victoria Tomova
Snigur didn’t qualify for Wimbledon, but she’s still having a good WTA season. Snigur is 21-14 in singles matches this season. Victoria Tomova is 26-21 in singles matches this season. She lost in the first round at the Hamburg Open, but should win this. Tomova gets the call.
Tennis Betting Pick: Victoria Tomova -200
Xinyu Wang vs. Anastasia Potapova
Xinyu Wang has yet to win a singles title this season. The 18-year-old Chinese players has a ton of talent, though. So she could surprise. But Anastasia Potapova is a top, up and coming, young player. The 21-year-old won three straight at the Hamburg European Open, losing to 1-seed Anett Kontaveit in the semifinals. The chalk looks formidable.
Tennis Betting Pick: Anastasia Potapova -222
