On her way to the fourth round at the BNP Paribas Open, Angelique Kerber beat a couple of seeded opponents in Jelena Ostapenko and Veronika Kudermetova. Kerber lost to Caroline Wozniacki.
Sloane Stephens fell in the third round to Daria Kasatkina. But Stephens played well, recording a first set victory before losing 4-6, 4-6. Sloane scores the win.

Petra Martic vs. Claire Liu
