Why Bet on the Texas Longhorns?

Texas gets a shot at another three-game winning streak after taking down Kansas in their most recent contest. The side did well on the offensive end. Although they are not the biggest threat on this end, the Longhorns kept the division frontrunners on their toes.

As a team, Texas averages 68.7 points (212th) per game on 45.4% shooting (80th). They are not the most competent three-point shooters at 32.6% (218th). But, the visitors are sure to do well from short and mid-range this time. The Longhorns hit 52.9% of their two-point attempts (69th).

Defense is where the Longhorns can pressure the Bears. They are the leading team when it comes to opponent points, allowing just 55.8 per game. The side has a robust shooting defense that can be difficult for the Bears to penetrate. As of this writing, Texas limits its opponents to 40.5% shooting (40th). This features a 45.7% opponent two-point (33rd) and 30.8% three-point (53rd) shooting.

The Texas Longhorns have a healthy core team coming into the contest. Leading scorer Timmy Allen at 11.75 points per game is expected to lead the team alongside Marcus Carr, who holds the second-best scoring record at 11.04 PPG.

Why Bet on the Baylor Bears?

Baylor is impressive for its offensive prowess. This makes the game a clash between a defense and offense-oriented team, making it a must-watch for all basketball and betting fans. Going over the Bears’ defense, they average 77.8 points (24th) per game. Their sharpshooters worked to achieve a 47.2% shooting percentage (32nd). The Longhorns’ short and perimeter defense will be tested with the hosts recording a 54.1% two-point (42nd) and 35.9% three-point (64th) shooting percentage.

However, LJ Cryer is on Saturday’s questionable list after the guard sustained a foot injury. He holds the team-high in points at 13.89 per game. If Cryer does not get the green light, the trio of James Akinjo, Adam Flagler, and Kendall Brown are anticipated to take charge.

The Bears present plenty of value on the defensive end as well. They limit teams to 62.2 opponent points (22nd) per game. Although they have to do more to match Texas’ shooting defense, they have a solid perimeter defense that holds opponents to 30.0% (37th) from downtown. Furthermore, the Bears are the better rebounding team in this matchup. They average 37.5 total rebounds (60th) in 24 games played.

Texas vs. Baylor Expert Betting Prediction

This game pulls the best out of both teams. There’s very little separation between the competitors as well. Nevertheless, having a home-court advantage gives Baylor the slight edge in this one. Their explosive offense can leave Texas’ attacks struggling while they try to remain composed on defense. Covering the spread should be doable for Texas. A win is not off the table as well. But, they have to work twice as hard on offense to keep their winning chances alive. Ultimately, we have our eye on a tight contest this weekend.
