Spain vs. Germany

  • When: Sunday, November 27th, 2022

  • 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Spain +133 // Germany +204

It doesn’t get any better than Spain versus Germany. Or does it? The German defense broke down big time in the second half versus Japan. Ritsu Doan scored the equalizer at the 75 th minute. Then Takuma Asano gave Japan the lead at the 83 rd minute.

Spain overwhelmed Costa Rica with a 7-goal tsunami. The Spanish won’t be nearly as aggressive in this. Germany may not have enough to beat Spain, but the Germans should at least force a draw.

Brazil vs. Switzerland

  • When: Monday, November 28th, 2022

  • 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Brazil -238 // Switzerland +663

You have to feel bad for Neymar. He’s had nothing but injury issues since the 2014 World Cup, which was supposed to be Brazil’s.

Instead, Germany won the 2014 title. But although Neymar must sit on the bench, we shouldn’t kid ourselves. Brazil is too deep to lose this match. Expect a similar game where Brazil plays keep away for most of it before scoring a winning goal.

Portugal vs. Uruguay

  • When: Monday, November 28th, 2022

  • 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Portugal -105 // Uruguay +331

Portugal can definitely score. Ronaldo’s squad kicked in 3 in a nice first game victory over Ghana.

So the offense is there. Portugal’s defense? Yeah, that could be an issue. The Portuguese allowed Ghana to score 2.

On Monday, Portugal faces a strong team in Uruguay. Sure, the Uruguayans drew 0-0 versus South Korea in their first match. No worries.

Uruguay, like all South American teams, preach defense first. Portugal should win this match, but the odds on Uruguay make the dog more than playable.

Iran vs. United States

  • When: Tuesday, November 29th, 2022

  • 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Iran +384 // United States -128

Iran has some talent but it doesn’t come close to the U.S. talent. The United States stopped being aggressive in their first match versus Wales, which is why they ended up drawing instead of winning.

By this match, the U.S. will be desperate to score goals because on Friday, Harry Kane and England take on the United States. Expect a showering of goals, 3-0 or even 4-0 should be the final.

Poland vs. Argentina

  • When: Wednesday, November 30th, 2022

  • 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Poland +576 // Argentina -196

Messi and his mates suffered one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history in their first match. Saudi Arabia, a +2500 underdog, beat Argentina 2-1.

The Albiceleste should manage a win against Mexico over the weekend, which means beating Poland will be necessary to ensure a trip to the Round of 16. Don’t expect Argentina to hold back. Poland is a decent team, but Argentina is going to be aggressive from here on out.

Croatia vs. Belgium

  • When: Thursday, December 1st, 2022

  • 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Croatia +195 // Belgium +142

Croatia versus Belgium projects as a tight match. Both teams have good offenses and solid defenses.

Kevin De Bruyne for Belgium and Luka Modric for Croatia could put on a show. More than likely each team holds back and plays for a draw. The reason? Both should be in line for a trip to the second round.

Serbia vs. Switzerland

  • When: Friday, December 2nd, 2022

  • 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Serbia +144 // Switzerland +198

Serbia against Switzerland will be a match for a knockout stage berth. On paper, these two are as close as can be.

Switzerland, at least for now, offers the higher odds. The Swiss beat Cameron 1-0 in their first match. The slight dog in this can get it done.
