Top 2023 NFL Fantasy Football Kickers

By Jeff Stinger

Whether we like it or not, kickers have always been a part of fantasy football, for better or worse. There’s too much variance in points production for the position that some leagues have opted to not include Ks in their league altogether. But for those who relish in the full fantasy football experience, picking up a top-three kicker is a “set it and forget it” deal that provides a stable floor of production all season long.

Nitrobetting is ready to take your bets into the end zone this 2023 NFL season. This time, let’s explore the best options at kicker with the highest upside who should be picked up early in the latter rounds of fantasy football re-draft leagues.

Top 3 Fantasy Football Kicker Picks this 2023 NFL Season

Justin Tucker (Baltimore Ravens)

To nobody’s surprise, arguably the best kicker in NFL history also remains the best kicker in all fantasy. Baltimore’s Justin Tucker will be the first kicker taken off of draft boards for sure, with some crazy managers even reaching for the five-time All-Pro as early as the seventh round. Although Tucker’s 86 percent field-goal percentage last season is his worst outing since 2014, he did attempt a new career high of 43 field goals as well to skew the ratios a bit. With the Ravens offense still lacking in consistent touchdown production, Tucker’s leg remains their best weapon on offense, by way of the special-teams superstar.

Tyler Bass (Buffalo Bills)

On the opposite end of the Ravens’ offense, meanwhile, Buffalo has one of the more prolific offenses in general. And while field goals are better for kickers in fantasy over extra points, Tyler Bass’ volume and accuracy in XP attempts are just as invaluable in fantasy. In his first three seasons as a pro, Bass has attempted at least 50 field goals each year and has missed four out of his 160 FGAs. For as long as the Bills’ offense is as explosive as the team’s (+440) odds to win the AFC title this year would suggest, Bass will be a highly-prized kicker to pick up relatively early in your fantasy football draft.

Harrison Butker (Kansas City Chiefs)

Had it not been for missed time due to injury, Kansas City’s Harrison Butker would’ve likely ended up as a top-five kicker in fantasy, similar to his output from the last four seasons. The 2019 scoring leader in the NFL played just 13 games in 2022 but should be back in full strength for the upcoming campaign as a key part of a high-scoring Chiefs offense. KC is the current (+330) odds-on favorite to win the AFC and Butker’s golden boot is also a potent fantasy weapon worth equipping if the timing is right to snag him off the board early in the double-digit rounds.
