Top 2023 NFL Season Fantasy WRs to Draft

By Jeff Stinger

With the NFL still being a pass-happy league, there’s a wealth of prolific wide receivers to choose from in fantasy drafts in 2023. However, only a handful stand out as the best wideouts in the game today which will also warrant heavy consideration as viable first-round picks in fantasy football leagues.

Nitrobetting is here to take your bets into the end zone this 2023 NFL season. This time, let’s count down the five best wide receivers to draft in the first few rounds of the 2023 NFL fantasy football season.

Top 5 Fantasy Football WRs to Draft this 2023 NFL Season

Justin Jefferson

As the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, it only makes sense that Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson is the top wide receiver in fantasy as well. After all, the former LSU standout has had back-to-back seasons with over 1,600 receiving yards and at least eight touchdowns caught. In turn, Jefferson finished as WR1 in fantasy for the second straight season as well, meaning that he’ll likely be off draft boards before the end of the first round.

Ja’Marr Chase

Had it not been for a hip injury that caused him to miss a month of action on the field, Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase would’ve likely contended with his former LSU teammate for the OPOY award last season. In 12 games, Chase still breached the 1,000-yard receiving barrier and hauled in nine TDs. He currently shares the same +1,200 odds as Jefferson as well for the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year award as Chase continues to be widely regarded as the 1B to Jefferson’s 1A in fantasy.

Tyreek Hill

Just when many thought that Tyreek Hill would see a decline in production with a new team, he’d actually turn into a bona fide top-three wide receiver in the NFL in his debut campaign with the Dolphins. Patrick Mahomes’ former favorite target in KC instantly clicked with his new play-caller in Miami, as he and Tua Tagovailoa defied all expectations. Hill finished only second to Jefferson with a whopping 119 receptions and 1,710 receiving yards. Seven touchdowns seem a bit low for a player of his caliber, but sharing the end-zone trips with fellow esteemed wideout Jaylen Waddle is expected and could still improve this upcoming season.

Davante Adams

Another wide receiver who felt right at home with his new team in 2022 is Davante Adams, who actually finished as the second-best wide receiver in standard leagues and third in PPR leagues. In his maiden campaign with the Raiders, Adams caught a league-best 14 touchdowns while also finishing with 100 catches for over 1,500 yards. Unfortunately, Adams will be spending his second season in Vegas without his former Fresno State teammate Derek Carr no longer throwing him the rock, but his consistently-elite production since his 2016 season with the Packers is enough to qualify him as a top-five wide receiver in fantasy in 2023.

A.J. Brown

The NFC Championship-winning Eagles would be in the lofty position they’re in now had it not been for the arrival of A.J. Brown from Tennessee. The two-time Pro Bowl selection is yet another case of becoming a top-tier fantasy WR after moving to a new team, setting new career highs of 88 catches, 1,496 receiving yards, and 11 receiving TDs. Philadelphia’s NFC-best +720 odds to win Super Bowl LVIII is made on the strength of Brown’s immediate chemistry with MVP candidate Jalen Hurts as the two will look to extend their fantastic form into the 2023 NFL season.
