Why is USA a safe bet to win?

Team USA stumbled out of the gates in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, as it fell prey to Les Bleus, 83-76. The Americans led by seven points with less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the French pulled off an incredible comeback and scored the next 14 points to claim their first win in the preliminary round. Team USA collapsed in the latter stage of the game and missed its final nine shots, giving the French players a clear opening to take the game.

Jrue Holiday led Team USA and scored 18 points. He is joined by Bam Adebayo, Damian Lillard, and Kevin Durant in the double-digit scoring with 12 points, 11 points, and 10 points, respectively. Their top offensive threats failed to deliver and struggled throughout the game.

It’s too early for the team to encounter a low point on the international stage considering that they have been dominating basketball at the Olympics with 15 gold medals, one silver medal, and two bronze medals. This is a wake-up call for the Americans as they are left with two remaining games in group play and have to deliver if they want to proceed to the quarterfinals.

Why is Iran a safe bet to win?

Iran is one of the few teams that has no NBA players. But with Team USA looking vulnerable, this gives the Iranians another chance to pounce. In their first game of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Iran’s men’s basketball team was able to close down Czech Republic’s 22-point lead with relentless attacking. Behnam Yakhchali was among the players responsible for chopping down the lead, scoring 23 points for his country.

Mohammad Jamshidi scored 16 points while Hamed Haddadi is not far behind with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Unfortunately, it did not end well for the Iranians as their opponents were persistent in keeping their lead.

On Wednesday, the Iranian national basketball team will try to recover from their loss despite entering the game as underdogs. Nevertheless, there’s a good chance that they put some more pressure on a struggling USA team.

USA vs. Iran Expert Betting Predictions

Looking at the previous results alone, there’s more doubt surrounding Team USA. Can they regain composure and start to rectify their mistakes in such a short amount of time? Needless to say, the gap between USA and Iran coming into the game is closer than ever. We’ve seen the Iranians threaten the Czech Republic in there’s previous contest, and there’s reason to believe that they can cover the spread and even get the win. Ultimately, Team USA enters the game as favorites while a win for Iran remains on the table.
