Although they could only manage a three-point lead at best, the figures tell us they had enough firepower to close the series early. As a team, they shot 48.3% from the field and 37.0% from deep. Rebounding is where they slowed down. The visitors only had 38 total rebounds, including seven offensive and 31 defensive boards.

LeBron James remains the best player on his team despite pushing 39 years of age. He went nine of 17 from the field and made all four free throws in 39 minutes. Anthony Davis left the floor early after getting elbowed by Kevon Looney, but he did have 23 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell had 15 each, while Dennis Schroder put in 14 points from the bench.
