Why Bet on the Washington Football Team?
With a three-game win streak in tow following their 17-15 win over the Seattle Seahawks last week, the Washington Football Team has slowly crept into the thick of the postseason hunt. Ron Rivera’s gang has punched above its weight class of late considering the adversities they’ve faced injury-wise.
Taylor Heinicke did just enough to lead his team to victory, going 27 of 35 for 223 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Instead, Washington’s offense rested on the shoulders of second-year running back Antonio Gibson, who set new season highs of 29 carries and 111 rushing yards.
Above all else, it’s been the WFT’s defense that has seen a significant improvement during the three game win streak, surrendering an average of just 18.3 points to their opponents during this span. Russell Wilson and the Seahawks experienced this improved D firsthand, as they one had a stretch of five consecutive possessions that all resulted in three-and-outs.
Why Bet on the Las Vegas Raiders?
Similar to Washington, the Las Vegas Raiders were on the winning end of a tight contest after they barely escaped with a 36-33 overtime victory in Arlington against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. With that win, the Raiders prevented themselves from dropping below .500 and also kept pace with the rest of the AFC West, where all four teams currently sport winning records for the season.
It was a sloppy and penalty-filled Turkey Day battle for Vegas, which needed a little help by way of a late Cowboys flag to set up Daniel Carlson’s game-winning field goal in the extra period. The team has allowed over 30 points to its opponents in each of the past three games, with Dallas’ Dak Prescott throwing for 375 passing yards and two scores.
The Raiders’ defense remains suspect, but at least veteran QB Derek Carr seems to have gotten some of his mojo back. Carr didn’t throw a pick for the first time in four games, finishing with 373 passing yards and a passing score to DeSean Jackson. Getting the running game going (143 team rushing yards against Dallas) also bodes well for the Silver and Black’s chances of bursting through Washington’s resurgent defenses.
Washington vs. Raiders Betting Trends
- Washington is 6-3 in its last nine road games (5-4 ATS).
- The WFT has lost four straight and eight of its last 10 games against AFC opponents (2-7-1 ATS).
- The totals went under in five of Washington’s last six games in general.
- The Raiders are 3-3 at home this season (2-4 ATS).
- The Raiders are 3-2 this year in games wherein they were favored to win (1-4 ATS).
- The totals went over three of Vegas’ last four home games.
Washington vs. Raiders Expert Betting Predictions
As the current odds would suggest, this interconference clash is pretty much a toss-up. Washington has a ton of momentum heading into the contest, while the Raiders have the benefit of a longer week to prepare and home-field advantage. This battle will likely go down to which quarterback manages the game the best, with Carr having the slight edge over Heinicke based solely on experience.
