Why Bet on the San Antonio Spurs?

The Wizards are out of the woods and ended a ten-game winning streak with a narrow victory over Western Conference fourth-seed Phoenix Suns. They enjoyed a positive start to the season but lost pace towards the end of November. Nevertheless, their recent win against a playoff contender might turn things around.

Overall, the Wizards’ offense averaged 110.7 points per game on 47.3% shooting. The squad averages 54.6% from close and mid-range while keeping three-pointers at 34.7%. Bradley Beal leads the team in scoring, averaging 23.40 points in 20 games. Power forwards Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma also average over 21 points per game. However, the former is expected to miss Thursday’s game due to an illness. Daniel Gafford might see more playing time and add to his average of 6.53 points per game.

Defensively, Washington limits opponents to 113.6 points per game on 46.5% shooting. They do better on this end of the court while holding teams to 51.6% from the two-point range. The Wizards also have competent rebounding figures and register 51.8 total boards per game, while limiting opponent assists to 24.2.

Why Bet on the New Orleans Pelicans?

Utah looks sturdier than its upcoming opponents. But, they did pick up four losses in their last seven games. There’s a sense of inconsistency coming from Will Hardy and his squad recently, and it’s important that they shake things off before heading out for a three-game road run next week.

The Jazz produces some of the most impressive offensive figures right now. They average 116.9 points per game on 47.4% shooting. Utah records two top-ten shooting statistics, including a 55.7% two-point and 37.0% three-point shooting percentage. Ball rotation is also a significant part of their system, averaging 26.4 total assists per game. Lauri Markkanen showed his true colors since the major lineup changes. He leads the team in minutes and points, averaging 33.88 minutes and 22.84 points. Joining him in the 20-plus point average is Jordan Clarkson, who records 20.06 points per game in 33 appearances.

The defense statistics of the Jazz need improvement in some areas. Being an offense-heavy team, they could be better at defending shots as they allow opponents to hit 47.9% of their looks. Utah allows 116.0 opponent points per game but makes things up on the rebounding side with 51.9 boards per game.

Wizards vs. Jazz Expert Betting Prediction

The clear advantage goes to the hosts here. Utah holds the better figures of the two and is in better form. Despite overcoming the Suns in their last game, the Wizards need to find ways to become more consistent on both ends of the floor. While covering the spread is a possible scenario for them, Bradley Beal needs more help on the offensive end. Kristaps Porzingis listed day-to-day does not help this team, but a hot Daniel Gafford or Rui Hachimura could be the answer. Meanwhile, the Jazz will miss the services of Kelly Olynyk once again, which means Walker Kessler fills in for him as starting center. Utah gets the favorite nod here, but don’t sleep on the Wizards yet.
