Top 2021 College Football Odds to Win Each Conference

By Hank Blaine

The NCAAF Season kicked off on August 28. Top teams start playing their first games on September 2 when the Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Minnesota to take on the Golden Gophers. Ohio State is at -220 to win the Big Ten Conference. Are the Buckeyes an underlay or overlay? We answer that question and tell you which conference favorites offer overlay, underlay, and fair odds in our college football conference favorites overview.

ACC

Clemson Tigers

Quarterback D.J. Uagalelei returns and the Tigers show one of the easiest conference schedules in, maybe, history. Dabo Swinney’s squad plays in the Atlantic Division. It’s not Clemson’s fault they get to play teams like Wake Forest, Boston College, and Syracuse. In any case, Clemson’s conference schedule implies they easily make the ACC Championship. But once there, they’ll likely face Miami-FL or North Carolina. Both those two rivals can beat Clemson. -900 is a lot to lay to win $100.

2021 College Football Conference Odds: -9 (Underlay)

Big 12

Oklahoma Sooners

Like always, the Big 12 is deep. Four, maybe, five teams can win the conference. Spencer Rattler and Oklahoma are one of those teams, but so is Iowa State, Texas, and West Virginia. Still, the odds aren’t bad considering Oklahoma should be the best team among the contenders.

2021 College Football Conference Odds: -170 (Fair)

Big Ten

Ohio State Buckeyes

The jury is out on Ohio State. On paper, the team looks solid. Ron Day will start a freshman quarterback, though. Also, the Big Ten should have a resurgence this season with Michigan, Minnesota, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Indiana all showing more upper classmen starters than the Buckeyes. Anything worse than -170 odds makes Ohio State an underlay.

2021 College Football Conference Odds: -220 (Underlay)

Pac 12

Oregon Ducks

Oregon’s football program is the most consistent in the Pac-12. The Ducks should win the conference unless USC turns into a monster team. Oregon may not be a great football team. But we’re getting above +200 odds on the one squad in the Pac that should make it to the championship contest. That doesn’t mean the odds are overlaid. It does mean they’re fair.

2021 College Football Conference Odds: +250 (Fair)

SEC

We were ready to write that Alabama’s odds made them an underlay. It’s impossible, though, because the rest of the SEC isn’t as daunting as in past seasons. Texas A&M must prove they can win after going through massive changes. Auburn has a new head coach. LSU bombed last season. Georgia will be good but Nick Saban rules his former assistant, Bulldogs’ coach Kirby Smart. That doesn’t Bama is a lock. It does mean if you like the Crimson Tide, you’re getting fair odds.

2021 College Football Conference Odds: -160(Fair)

AAC

Cincinnati Bearcats

In 2020, the Bearcats went undefeated during the regular season. Cincinnati plays #17 Indiana and #9 Notre Dame in 2021. If Cincinnati beats either of those two teams, and goes undefeated during the regular season, they could become the first non-Power 5 Conference squad to land a College Football Playoff bid. That’s Cincinnati’s goal this season, a CFP bid. The Bearcats should easily win the AAC. Teams like Memphis, SMU, Toledo and Central Florida are quality squads. But Cincinnati can hang with teams like Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. Their AAC opponents can’t.

2021 College Football Conference Odds: -250 (Overlay)
