Lewis Hamilton

There’s no doubt Hamilton is the top favorite. He’s already making history, having won his seventh Drivers’ Championship, now tied with Michael Schumacher in most wins with seven each.

Right now, what hangs is the balance is if he will sign again with Mercedes. They have tools to get the job done, with a DAS steering system constantly evolving and a AMG unit superior to its predecessors. Recent news says Hamilton will most likely leave Mercedes and has had talks with Ferrari and Red Bull.

Max Verstappen

There’s a rumor going around of Verstappen leaving Red Bull, but those were shot down, as he signed a contract extension with Red Bull until 2023. He will be with Sergio Perez, looking to bring down Mercedes this time around.

His 2020 season wasn’t his best. He won two races but retired five times during other events, due to electronic problems or a puncture in his tires. But the lack of a solid teammate to take down Hamilton and Bottas, if had its effect. Considering the possibility of Hamilton joining Red Bull, that might make things easier this time around.

Valtteri Bottas

Mercedes was able to keep Bottas for another year, pairing him again with Hamilton. He kicked off the 2020 season with a win in the Austrian Grand Prix and also took a win in the Russian Grand Prix. At the end of the season, he ended the season in second place of the Championship table with 223 points.

Now in 2021, he extended another year with Mercedes, but this will most likely be his last year, as their has been reports from Mercedes of interest in replacing Bottas and Hamilton for Esteban Ocon and George Russell in 2022. So we might see the best of Bottas this time around. Especially with the challenges these changes present.

Sergio Perez

The newest member of the Red Bull Racing team is teaming up with Max Verstappen and Alex Albon, with the same goal in mind. To take down Mercedes from their top spot.

His performance in 2020 obtained one win at the end of the season, winning the Sakhir Grand Prix, making him the first Mexican driver to win since Pedro Rodriguez won the 1970 Belgium Grand Prix.

He did suffer from COVID-19, which led him to not participate in the British Grand Open. Along that, Racing Point was turning into Aston Martin in 2021 and he wasn’t taken with them.

Now with a another racing team and solid teammates, we can definitely expect far more from Perez this season.

2021 Drivers’ Championship Betting Prediction

It’s too early to make a call. Though there are many storylines that are yet to develop this season. And while it’s easy to say Lewis Hamilton can win another one, the possible change of team could affect.

It looks like Red Bull Racing will definitely making a name for themselves, especially if Hamilton signs with them. And with Sergio Perez on the team, it just increases their chances of winning. Keep track of the season and mid-way though it, we’ll have a better idea of what to expect at the end of the season.
