Betting Predictions for the Last 2 Weeks of the 2021 NFL Season

By Hank Blaine

The final two weeks of the 2021 NFL regular season is here. A lot can happen in Week 17 and Week 18. Divisions can be won or lost. Teams on the playoff bubble could see those bubbles burst and current 1-seeds might fall apart. Check out our predictions for the last two weeks of the season.

NFL Predictions for the Last 2 Weeks of the Season

New England grabs the first seed in the AFC Playoffs<.h3>

The Kansas City Chiefs could struggle to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in NFL Week 16, but even if the Chiefs win that game, KC must beat the Bengals in Cincinnati on Jan. 2 and the Broncos in Denver on Jan. 9.

Kansas City has played like one of the best teams in the league. But the Super Bowl favorite isn’t a lock to win either of their final 2 games. The prediction here is that KC loses one of their final 2 games while the New England Patriots win both their final 2 and secure the AFC’s 1-seed.

Arizona ends the season on a 5-game losing streak

After Zona loses to the Colts on Dec. 25, they face the Dallas Cowboys in NFL Week 17 and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18. Arizona is playing like a shell of the team that only a few weeks ago had the league’s best record. There’s a real chance the Cardinals end their season on a 5-game losing streak, concede the NFC South to the Rams, and enter the playoffs a 6-seed or 7-seed.

The Indianapolis Colts win the AFC South

The Titans must lose 2 of their 3 remaining games for Indianapolis to win the division. There’s a chance Tennessee loses all 3. But lets say the Titans somehow pull off a win against San Francisco on Dec. 23. Tennessee must then beat the Dolphins, who have won 6 straight heading into their Week 16 matchup versus New Orleans, and the Houston Texans in NFL Week 18.

Houston upset the Titans already this season. Why wouldn’t they beat Tennessee again? If the Titans lose 2-of-3, the Colts will win the division. Indianapolis should handle the stumbling Cardinals in Week 16. The Week 17 opponent is Las Vegas, another win for sure, and then the Colts take on the Jaguars to finish out the regular season.

Cincinnati wins the AFC North

The Bengals control their destiny. After Cincinnati ends the Ravens’ playoff hopes on Dec. 26, they face the Chiefs on Jan. 2 and are at the Browns on Jan. 9. The Browns are a for sure victory. Even if Kansas City beats Cincinnati, it’s doubtful Pittsburgh beats the Chiefs in Week 16 and the Browns and Ravens in their final 2 games, which means Cincy takes the AFC North.

Green Bay, Dallas, and Tampa Bay all win out

Green Bay is the current 1-seed, Dallas is the 2-seed, and Tampa is the 3-seed. Based on each teams’ remaining schedules, no change should happen with the top three seeds. The Packers, Cowboys, and Buccaneers should win their remaining games. Green Bay hosts the Browns and Vikings and then travels to play Detroit in Week 18. The Cowboys get to beat up Washington the day after Christmas and then face the Cardinals and are at the Eagles. Both are games Dallas should win. Tampa gets to play the Panthers in Week 16 and Week 18 and are at the Jets in Week 17. The Buccaneers have no business losing any of those games. If Dallas, Green Bay, and Tampa win out, the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC will go through Lambeau. If that happens, expect Green Bay to become the Super Bowl 56 favorite.
