2021 NFL Week 6 Recap

Kansas City gets back on track with dominating win over Washington

Entering halftime, it looked as if the Chiefs were on their way to another disappointing effort. The WFT had Kansas City where they wanted them, down 13-10. But Patrick Mahomes rallied his mates and the defense came up with their best half of the season. At the end, Kansas City conquered the Washington Football Team 31-13. Mahomes was great when scoring 21 points in the second half.

But the real story was KC’s defense. The Chiefs ranked dead last in points allowed per. But in the second half they dominated a better than average offense led by a decent quarterback in Taylor Heinicke. The WFT couldn’t score a field goal. If KC’s defense is back, expect the fear factor to return, which means there’s a chance Kansas City goes on a roll.

In a battle of 4-1 teams, Ravens prevail over Chargers

NFL Week 6’s most anticipated game ended in a blowout. The Baltimore Ravens dusted the Los Angeles Chargers 34-6. After the first couple of series, it was apparent the Bolts didn’t have the right game plan. Los Angeles seemed to rely heavily on wide receiver Mike Williams. Williams is a fantastic receiver. He was banged up this week, though.

Not only that, but the Ravens’ top corner, Marlon Humphrey, was on Williams. After Williams dropped a couple of key passes early in the game, the Chargers should have switched plans. Instead, they went for it on fourth down in their own territory. The gambit didn’t work and the Ravens dominated.

Dallas outlasts Patriots and win in overtime

Many thought Dallas versus New England was the game where the Cowboys were going to become an average team. After the first half, it appeared as if the fortune tellers would be proven true. Dallas rallied from a 14-10 first half deficit to force overtime and then beat the Patriots 35-29.

The win not only propelled the Cowboys to their fifth straight victory, but it also sent the Boys to 6-0 against the spread. The Cowboys showed they can face adversity and win. Right now, it’s difficult not to make Dallas one of the top three teams in the NFL.

In London game, Jaguars win first of the season

Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence finally got a victory. Granted, the game happened in London and it was against the disappointing Miami Dolphins. But a win is a win. Not only that, but Lawrence rallied the Jags down 13-3 to take the game 23- 20. We can’t blame this one on Tua Tagovailoa. In his first action since September 19, Tagovailoa played well.

Yes, he threw a pick, but he also completed 70.2% of his passes for 329 yards and threw a couple of touchdown passes. The strength of Miami’s squad last season was their defense. This season the defense has been a mess. The Dolphins rank twenty-ninth in points scored per game. They allow 417.8 yards per, which rank thirtieth.

Arizona Cardinals remain undefeated after destroying Baker and the Browns in Cleveland

The Ravens and Chiefs impressed in NFL Week 6, but the team that got everyone talking were the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards won their sixth straight. Arizona faced one of the better teams in the National Football League, the Cleveland Browns. Most felt that if any team could hand Arizona their first loss of the season it was the best rushing team in the league.

But the Cardinals defense stepped up again, holding the Browns to a ridiculously low 73 yards on the ground. Baker Mayfield passed for just 217 yards and the Cards won 37-14. Arizona is 6-0 straight up and 5-1 against the spread. It doesn’t appear as if Zona has any flaws. They were without head coach Kliff Kingsbury on Sunday and they still won.

Bills fall to Titans

Is Zona the best team in the league? They are because on Monday night the Bills fell 34-31 to the Tennessee Titans. Buffalo played a fantastic game, but they had trouble stopping the best running back in the league, Derrick Henry. When Henry gets going, no team can keep him from rushing for mass amounts of yards and scoring TDs. On Monday night, Henry rushed for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Bills allow 89.7 yards per on the ground, which tells us how great of a running back Derrick Henry is.
