Top Pick to Win the 2022 3M Open

Im hasn’t played well in his last three tournaments. There are excuses. There’s no shame in missing the cut at the U.S. Open. The last couple of tournaments played were over European style links courses, the Genesis Open and The Open Championship. So Sungjae Im missing the cut at both The Renaissance Club and at St. Andrews makes sense.

Im didn’t tee off at the 2021 3M Open. But if we go back to the Memorial in early June, Sungjae played well enough to finish a tied tenth. He can win and the odds are fair.

Second Top Pick to Win the 2022 3M Open

The chalk will be tough to beat. Finau is playing great golf, shooting a -10 at the Travelers in late June to finish thirteenth and a -8 at The Open Championship to finish a tied twenty-eighth. The missed cut at the U.S. Open is a concern. But before missing the cut at The Country Club, Finau had finished second at the RBC Canadian Open.

We must take the favorite’s chances to win seriously. Tony Finau, especially if he shoots a 62 or 64 like he did at the Canadian Open, can win the trophy.

Third Top Pick to Win the 2022 3M Open

Theegala has made the cut in his last 5 tournaments played. Sahith played well at St. Andrews last week, finishing a tied thirty-fourth. He finished a tied sixteenth at the John Deere Classic in the tournament he played before the Open Championship. At the Travelers Championship, the tournament he played before the John Deere, Sahith Theegala shot a -17 to finish a tied seventeenth.

Theegala’s odds are better than the top two choices. If you want more value, consider backing the +2200 third pick.

Top Underdog Pick to Win the 2022 3M Open

Champ is having a horrible, horrendous, PGA Tour Season. Cameron has missed the cut in five straight tournaments played. But although he’s striking the ball like he just discovered what a golf club is, Cameron can turn it around. He finished sixth at the Mexico Open before the string of missed cuts.

More importantly, Champ finished first at the 2021 3M Open. Another reason to like Cameron is because this is his first tournament since the John Deere Classic from June 30 through July 3. No doubt, Champ has taken the last three weeks to get his swing back. If the time off worked, he can win back-to-back 3M trophies.
