As of this writing, Mo Donegal is the front-runner to win the 2022 Belmont Stakes. Despite the colt’s fifth-place finish at the Kentucky Derby, it still managed to pick up wins in four of the six prior races, along with another pair of third-place finishes.

Mo Donegal also has one factor working in its favor, and that’s the guidance of renowned trainer Todd Pletcher. Pletcher has a total of three Belmont Stakes victories to his name, recently having taken the Run for the Carnations in 2017 with Tapwrit, which also won that year’s Kentucky Derby.
