2022 Hero World Challenge Sleeper Picks

By Jeff Stinger

After a brief one-week layoff, the PGA TOUR season is back for a special event this week featuring 20 of only the world’s best golfers at the by-invitation-only Hero World Challenge. Although the field is stacked with elite competition, there’s actually better value to be had in the sleeper rungs of the field considering that the names in the mid-tier portion of the field are already golfing greats of recent past and present.

Nitrobetting is here to give the best tips from the betting greens and fairways. This time, let’s take a closer look at the three best sleeper candidates to keep tabs on at the 2022 Hero World Challenge, as well as their corresponding golf odds to win the latest installment of the annual tournament held in The Bahamas.

Collin Morikawa

  • 2022 Hero World Challenge Odds: +1,800

After a decent T15 showing at Mayakoba at the start of the month, Colin Morikawa makes his way back to The Bahamas, where he had a superb T5 finish in his debut showing in last year’s run of the tournament. The two-time major champion also just tied the knot with his girlfriend this past week, which gives Morikawa an intangible edge as a superb sleeper pick to win it all in Albany.

Jordan Spieth

  • 2022 Hero World Challenge Odds: +1,800

Speaking of former majors champions, Jordan Spieth will be making his return to the links in a star-studded tournament that he’s had previous success at. Spieth finished tied for third in The Bahamas back in 2017 and also won it all in 2014 when the tournament was held in Isleworth. One of the TOUR’s biggest household names is always in the running at star-studded affairs and Spieth should have plenty of backers this week even though his odds only warrant him sleeper status right now.

Tom Kim

  • 2022 Hero World Challenge Odds: +1,800

One fast-rising golfer on the TOUR, meanwhile, is 20-year-old South Korean prodigy Tom Kim, who arguably has the best body of work early in the season thus far with top-25 finishes in each of his three starts to date, including a win at the Shriners Children’s Open in October. Kim already has a pair of PGA TOUR victories under his belt along with four other top-15 finishes since bursting onto the scene in July and will be a hot ticket in the betting front once more after his sheer display of excellence on the greens at such a young age
