2022 AFC Championship – Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • Over/Under 54

Why the AFC Championship will go over

The Kansas City Chiefs have scored 42 points in each of their last two playoff games. Not only have the Chiefs scored points, but they’ve also allowed at least 21 points in each of the past two games. The total versus Pittsburgh, which fields one of the lowest-scoring offenses in the NFL, was 53 points. The total against the Bills was 78.

Why the AFC Championship will go under

Cincinnati’s defense has stepped it up big time. The Chiefs held the Raiders to 19 points in a 26- 19 victory. Then on the road in Tennessee versus the Titans, Joe Burrow drove the Bengals to a game winning field goal in a 19-16 game. Cincinnati won’t mind playing a slowdown and run the football type AFC Championship.

The playoff version of the Cincinnati Bengals appears to be much different than the regular season version. But that may not be by choice. In both playoff contests, the Bengals played against teams that wanted to keep the ball from Joe Burrow. The Titans tried to establish the rush over allowing Ryan Tannehill to throw to Julio Jones and A.J. Brown. The Raiders didn’t want to give Burrow too many chances.

On Sunday, the Chiefs want the football in the hands of Patrick Mahomes as much as possible. KC will dare Cincinnati to keep up with their offense, which means were in for a high-scoring and highly entertaining AFC Championship.

2022 AFC Championship Total Pick: Over 54

2022 NFC Championship – San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams

  • Over/Under 46.5

Why the NFC Championship will go over

The Rams’ offense is rolling. The Rams scored 34 against the Arizona Cardinals and 30 against the Buccaneers. The 49ers scored just 23 points against the Cowboys and 13 against the Green Bay Packers. But in both games the 49ers wanted to keep the ball from Dak Prescott’s and Aaron Rodgers’ hands. SF knows how to break down Los Angeles’ defense. So the Niners will open the offense more versus LAR than they did aginast the Boys and Packers.

Why the NFC Championship will go under

Both teams rely on strong defensive lines and quarterback pressure. The 49ers held Dallas to 17 points. Green Bay scored 10. The Rams picked off Kyler Murray twice on their way to a 34-11 victory. Tom Brady rallied the Buccaneers to 27 points in the NFC Divisional Round, but at halftime the score was Rams 20 and Bucs 3.

Final 2022 NFC Championship Over Under Pick

If these two teams played in different divisions, under might bet the play. But San Francisco and Los Angeles know each other about as well as any two teams in the NFL. Kyle Shanahan will have a game plan to exploit the Rams’ secondary issues. Deebo Samuel is uncoverable, which means Shanahan will employ an offensive strategy to gets Deebo in space. The Rams scored 24 points against the Niners in the Week 18 loss. Matthew Stafford is playing his best football and SF has already shown it can’t cover Cooper Kupp. So although both defenses are playing well, familiarity puts the defenses in tough positions. The offenses should rule on Sunday, which means the NFC Championship goes over.

2022 NFC Championship Total Pick: Over 46.5
