Quarterback

Jared Goff – Lions

  • Pct. Owned: 29.6%

Winners of four of their last five games, the Lions have been one of the bigger surprises this season. Former first-overall pick Jared Goff hasn’t been too shabby himself even in terms of fantasy production, recently finishing with 340 passing yards and two passing touchdowns for 21 fantasy points against the Jaguars in Week 13.

Goff provides a decent floor relative to other streaming QB options and has limited his turnovers as well of late, throwing just one interception in his last six starts. Detroit has a massive divisional showdown against the Vikings ahead and the Lions are actually (-1) favorites to win at home this Sunday. In Week 3, the two teams combined for over 50 points scored, which could spell another stellar fantasy day for Goff and the Lions’ offense in general.

Running Back

James Cook – Bills

  • Pct. Owned: 25.3%

In a Buffalo roster filled with tons of weapons, rookie running back James Cook is the latest to be fed by the team’s potent offense. The second-rounder out of Georgia led all Bills players in rushing in Week 13 with 14 carries for 64 yards and also hauled in all six of Josh Allen’s passes that went his way for 41 receiving yards.

Over the last three games, Cook has had either double-digit rush attempts or five or more targets in the passing game, further highlighting the 23-year-old-’s rise in his team’s pecking order. About one-fourth of fantasy leagues have already caught up to Cook’s coming-out party and we expect his ownership to soar significantly this week, especially in PPR leagues.

DeeJay Dallas – Seahawks

  • Pct. Owned: 0.6%

Just about every Seattle running back is hurt as we speak, and the healthiest of the bunch right now is third-year back DeeJay Dallas. Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate Kenneth Walker III suffered an ankle injury this past week and Dallas’ fellow backup, Travis Homer, was also inactive.

This leaves Dallas as the one relatively healthy backfield member in the Seahawks’ offense, with the former Miami Gator getting 10 touches and 37 rushing yards in place of Walker this past Sunday against the Rams. It’s worth noting that Dallas is also dealing with a high ankle issue right now, but remains a speculative stash in the event that the Seahawks’ running back platoon gets bitten much worse by the injury bug.

Wide Receiver

Jahan Dotson – Commanders

  • Pct. Owned: 26.6%

Finding the end zone for the first time since Week 4 is Washington’s Jahan Dotson, who finished with five catches and 54 receiving yards to go along with his TD catch. The 16th-overall selection in this year’s draft missed four games mid-season with a hamstring issue and made an impact once more for his team’s offense in his fourth game back from his injury.

We normally wouldn’t endorse a player on a bye in this column, but Dotson’s upside is way too hard to ignore considering Washington’s late resurgence. Dotson is a noteworthy stash for playoff-bound fantasy teams looking to add depth at the WR position and have a spare bench slot to spare this week to make room for the young talent.

Trent Sherfield – Dolphins

  • Pct. Owned: 0.6%

Many would argue that Trent Sherfield’s 75-yard receiving touchdown against his former team the 49ers this past Sunday was a one-off fluke. However, the undrafted product has been a serviceable WR3 option in Miami’s receiving corps, seeing a total of 13 targets for seven catches and now two receiving TDs over the last three games.

The Dolphins’ passing offense is still just as potent and Sherfield has steadily contributed to the cause. Miami is a (-3) road favorite in its upcoming trip to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers, who have one of the most porous secondaries in the league this season. As such, Sherfield is a big-boom-potential pickup for very deep fantasy leagues.

Tight End

Greg Dulcich – Broncos

  • Pct. Owned: 38.6%

There’s no question that Denver’s offense is in shambles. However, there’s one fantasy nugget to be found in the Rockies in the form of tight end Greg Dulcich, who led his team in targets (eight), receptions (six), and receiving yards (85) this past weekend.

We touted Dulcich as a viable waiver wire pickup over a month ago when he broke out between Weeks 6 and 8 and we’re still surprised that he isn’t owned in a majority of leagues yet even though finding a decent weekly TE start is as tough as it gets for a top-heavy position. Russell Wilson seems to have the best connection with the 22-year-old out of UCLA out of his downfield weapons and Dulcich is in line for another huge game with the Broncos set to take on the Chiefs in a game that Denver will likely need to throw a ton playing from behind against mighty KC.
