Top Pick to Win the 2022 TOUR Championship

The odds make Scottie Scheffler an overlay. Not only does Scottie start the day with a 2-stroke lead versus 2021 TOUR Championship winner Patrick Cantlay, but Scheffler shot a 67 and 68 at last year’s tournament. No doubt, Scottie is going to be on point in every round this year. Scheffler won the Masters earlier in 2022. He has a big chance to take the TOUR Championship.

Second Top Pick to Win the 2022 TOUR Championship

At last year’s TOUR Championship, Patrick Cantlay beat Jon Rahm by a single stroke. It’s no surprise that Patrick is the chalk to win a second TOUR title. At last week’s BMW Championship, Cantlay shot a 68-68-65-69.

But although Patrick is a decent pick to win his second straight title, he will start the tournament a couple of strokes behind Scheffler. Not only that, but the odds make Cantlay unplayable to win the tournament. +250 are too low to back a golfer who starts play in a 2 stroke hole.

Third Top Pick to Win the 2022 TOUR Championship

Will Zalatoris had to withdrawal from last week’s BMW Championship. If Zalatoris’ back is okay, he can absolutely make up the 3 strokes he’s handing Scottie Scheffler. No player has shot better tee to green this season than Zalatoris.

Also, since changing caddies Will has putted the ball much better. Now that he’s got a full game, Zalatoris is a threat to win every tournament he enters, including this one. Pay attention to what he says about his back. If Will gives the greenlight, Zalatoris might be worth a look.

Top Underdog Pick to Win the 2022 TOUR Championship

If not for a 77 first round at the BMW, Finau may have beaten Patrick Cantlay. After the 77 first round, Tony tore it up, shooting a 68-67-68. Finau won the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic. He finished fifth at the St. Jude Championship, the first tournament in the playoffs. Tony Finau is playing well enough to warrant a look. Making up 4 strokes on Cantlay and 6 on Scheffler won’t be easy, but Finau can do it.
