Matteo Berrettini vs. Casper Ruud
Both Berrettini and Ruud have played a lot of tennis in recent rounds. Ruud required 8 sets to get by 29-seed Tommy Paul in his third round win. The 8 sets included 3 extra sets that could have gone either way. Ruud followed up the marathon with a 5-set match versus unseeded Corentin Moutet. The underdog beat Ruud in the third set before Casper rallied in the fourth for a 6-2 win.
Matteo Berrettini has played one less set than Ruud in his last couple of matches. Berrettini required 5 sets to get by Andy Murray. In his fourth round match, Matteo required 6 sets to beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Both players will lay it all on the line in this. Ruud has a 3-2 edge in the head-to-head. Give Casper the nod.

Underdog Karen Khachanov is in tough versus the player many believe wins the U.S. Open Men’s Singles title. Khachanov played great in his fourth round match, though. The 27-seed faced 12-seed Pablo Carreno Busta. Karen lost the first and fourth sets by the same 4-6 score. He rallied after both set losses to beat Busta in 5 sets. Nick Kyrgios heads into this on fire.
Kyrgios used 5 sets to knock out 1-seed Daniil Medvedev. But Nick entered this tournament saying he was tired. He must be super tired after beating the ATP’s top ranked player. Khachanov is under the radar. Not only that, but while the odds make Kyrgios an underlay, they make Karen an overlay. The underdog is the play.

Andrey Rublev vs. Frances Tiafoe
Rublev versus Tiafoe should be the most competitive match of the four. That’s saying a lot because all eight remaining players have the ability to win the U.S. Open trophy.
9-seed Andrey Rublev has played fantastic tennis during the tournament. He bested 19-seed Denis Shapovalov in 7 sets, 5 sets and a couple of tie breaker sets, in the third round. Then in the fourth round, Rublev upset Cameron Norrie in straight sets. Frances Tiafoe beat Rafael Nadal in his last match. Tiafoe dropped a single set to the 2-seed. The 22-seed is on fire. He’s playing amazing tennis. This could go either way, but the 24 year old Tiafoe is determined.

Jannik Sinner vs. Carlos Alcaraz
In four rounds, underdog Jannik Sinner has played 18 total sets. Sinner required 5 sets to beat Ilya Ivashka in his last match. Alcaraz required 5 sets to beat Marin Ili in his last match. Neither player has battled against top seeded competition.
The 3-seed gets the benefit of the doubt because he has played great this ATP season. But the odds difference makes Carlos unplayable. He isn’t -182 better than Sinner. Jannik offers overlay odds, making him the play.
