Karen Khachanov vs. Sebastian Korda

  • When: Monday, Jan. 23 at 10:00 pm ET

Korda didn’t have an easy time in his last. The match before, the third round victory over 7- Daniil Medvedev was no walk in the park either.

In his last two, Sebastian has played eight combined sets and three tiebreakers. Korda had to lay it all on the line to get by 10-Hubert Hurkacz in his fourth round victory.

Khachanov beat 16-Fances Tiafoe in the third round. Like Korda, Khachanov has had to play multiple tie breakers in his last two matches versus Tiafoe and Yoshihito Nishioka but Khachanov has more quarterfinals major experience. Karen gets it done.

2023 Australian Open Pick: Karen Khachanov

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Jiri Lehecka

  • When: Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 4:30 am ET

21-year-old Jiri Lehecka has beaten three seeded players on his way to a showdown versus one of the best men’s players on the planet. In the first round, Lehecka bested 21-Borna Coric.

Lehecka’s third round victory came against 11-Cameron Norrie. Then in his fourth round match, Jiri beat Felix Auger-Aliassime. As well as Lehecka has played, he must step it up big time to get by Tsitsipas.

It took Stefanos 5 sets to win his fourth round match. Tsitsipas faced a tough customer in Jannik Sinner. Lehecka could turn into a great player, but it won’t happen in this. The favorite wins.

2023 Australian Open Pick: Stefanos Tsitsipas

Andrey Rublev vs. Novak Djokovic

  • When: Tuesday, Jan. 24 at TBD

9-Holger Rune pushed Andrey Rublev big time in Rublev’s fourth round victory. Andrey required 5 sets and an 11-9 fifth set tiebreaker to get by 9-Holger Rune.

The 25-year-old Russian is going to have to step it up big time if he hopes to get by Novak Djokovic. In his return to the Australian Open, Djoker has lost a single set and it took a tie breaker for Enzo Couacaud to win the set.

Djokovic is striving for another Australian Open trophy. He looks primed to dominate Rublev in this quarterfinals match. Consider laying games once odds drop.

2023 Australian Open Pick: Novak Djokovic

Ben Shelton vs. Tommy Paul

  • When: Tuesday, Jan. 24 at TBD

To get by JJ Wolf in his last, Ben Shelton had to play five sets and three tiebreakers. No doubt, the 20-year-old is young enough to pick it up after such a tough match.

But he may not pick it up enough to beat Tommy Paul. Paul handled 24-Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 in his fourth round victory. Paul is a good tennis player, Shelton lacks experience, and had to fight hard to get by Wolf. Tommy wins.

2023 Australian Open Pick: Tommy Paul
