2022 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament Recap

North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, and Villanova made it to the Final Four. The Jayhawks beat the Wildcats in the semifinals. Duke fell to the Tar Heels in Coach K’s final game.

In the National Championship, North Carolina ran out to a 15-point halftime lead. Kansas cut into the lead in the first ten minutes. Then the Jayhawks took over. At the final whistle, Kansas was up 72-69, winning their first National Championship since 2008.

Top Pick to Win the 2023 College Basketball Championship

John Calipari’s squad is loaded. Everybody knows about Oscar Tshiebwe. But the reigning player of the year isn’t alone. Sahvir Wheeler and Jacob Toppin also return.

Not only that, but since this is Kentucky Wildcats, we know at least one freshman will step it up. The contenders are guard Cason Wallace and small forward Chris Livingston.

Big Blue is loaded this season. Unless things fail to come together, Coach Cal’s crew should grab a top seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Second Top Pick to Win the 2023 College Basketball Championship

North Carolina’s Center Armando Bacot, Leaky Black, Caleb Love, and Puff Johnson all return. Bacot is a National Player of the Year candidate. So is Love.

Armando plays center. Caleb plays guard. The duo should dominate the ACC this season. Black has a crazy wingspan, which is one of the reasons he’s one of the top five defenders in college basketball. Johnson can score in bunches.

Also, coach Hubert Davis convinced Pete Nance to transfer from Northwestern to Chapel Hill.

Third Top Pick to Win the 2023 College Basketball Championship

North Carolina and Kentucky are blue blood programs. The Houston Cougars isn’t, but on paper, Kelvin Sampson’s squad is as good as the Wildcats and Tar Heels.

Marcus Sasser is one of the best players Houston has ever had. Sasser is a combo forward guard who does it all. Jamel Shead and Tramon Mark return. So does Reggie Chaney. Top recruit Jarace Walker and NBA prospect, freshman Terrance Arceneaux round out the top six.

Underdog Pick to Win the 2023 College Basketball Championship

Benedict Mathurin and Dalen Terry are gone. To help replace their scoring, Tommy Lloyd convinced Texas player Courtney Ramey to transfer. Ramey has played in over one-hundred college games. His experience will help the Wildcats beat UCLA and win the Pac-12.

Ramey isn’t alone. Azuolas Tubelis and Oumar Ballo should dominate the paint. Kerr Krissa is a terrific point-guard and Pelle Larsson is the Pac-12 reigning Sixth Man of the Year. Watch out for the Cats.
