2023 NFL Conference Championship Betting Guide

By Hank Blaine

We’re down to the NFL’s Final Four. By Sunday evening, we’ll know which two teams will participate in this season’s Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the early game and then the Kansas City Chiefs battle the Cincinnati Bengals in the late game. Check out the NFL odds, analysis, and free ATS and O/U total picks for both conference championships.

A Closer Look at the 2023 NFL Conference Championship Round

San Francisco 49ers vs. Philadelphia Eagles // 2023 NFC Championship

Most of the money is going on the Eagles at -2.5 to win and cover the spread. But the Eagles’ victory over the New York Giants wasn’t as dominating as the final score implies.

Yes, Philly’s defense rocked it. The Eagles’ offense won’t have nearly the same success versus a San Francisco defense that boasts Nick Bosa, the likely NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and Dre Greenlaw.

Both those players will put the clamps on Jalen Hurts’ ability to rush with the ball, which means the Hurts will have to throw if the Eagles hope to beat the 49ers.

On the flip side, Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, although banged up, will play on Sunday. Both have stated they are taking it easy in practice to ensure they don’t aggravate nagging injuries.

If both step onto the field, the 49ers should move the pigskin because the Eagles allowed the Giants to rush for close to 6 yards per carry. From most angles, San Francisco gets it done. Taking the points on SF makes sense.

As far as betting the total, SF will want to take their time with drives. Simply put, Brock Purdy doesn’t make mistakes. Purdy didn’t throw a TD versus the Cowboys, but he also didn’t throw a pick. In addition, Kyle Shanahan will call a game that leans heavily on SF’s excellent rushing attack. Under is the play.

2023 NFC Championship Pick: San Francisco 49ers +2.5 // Under 45.5

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs // 2023 AFC Championship

A lot has been made of Patrick Mahomes high-ankle sprain injury, and for good reason. If Mahomes can’t move inside the pocket, the Chiefs’ offense should be in some trouble.

The problem? Cincinnati’s Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson make for one of the best, if not the best, pair of defensive ends in the NFL. Also, defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is a master at hiding blitzes.

Anarumo used Mike Hilton to disrupt Josh Allen all day in the Bengals’ win against the Bills. To make matters worse for the Chiefs and their fans, Joe Burrow is 2-0 versus KC and the Bengals have won 3 straight against the Chiefs.

Burrow knows how to beat the Chiefs. In the 27-24 regular season victory over KC, Joe Cool threw for 286 yards and 2 TDs. The Bengals rushed for over 150 yards.

Cincinnati wins and covers. The total figures to go under. If Mahomes was one hundred percent, it would go over, but there’s no way Patrick is as effective as he usually is. Bengals to under looks like a solid parlay.

2023 AFC Championship Pick: Cincinnati Bengals +1 // Under 47
