After an incredible NFL Week 2, even better matchups happen in NFL Week 3. On Thursday, the Giants head to the Bay Area to take on the 49ers. Then on Sunday, Miami plays in another high-profile game when the Dolphins host the 0-2 Dever Broncos. New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers

• When: Thursday, September 21st, 2023. 8:15pm EST.
• Where: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
• NFL Odds: Giants (+10.5) // 49ers (-10.5)

San Francisco’s defense should dominate a Giant’s offense without running back Saquon Barkley. The Giants got their offense going versus the Arizona Cardinals to rally for a win in NFL Week 2, but the 49ers are a much different team.

It’s tough to lay 10. However, the Niners are better than the G-men in every phase of the game.

Tennessee Titans vs. Cleveland Browns

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
• Where: Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland, OH
• NFL Odds: Titans (+4) // Browns (-4)

Tennessee rallied against the Browns to score their first win of the season. But things won’t be easy versus a Browns squad that boasts the great Myles Garrett and other top level defenders.

Tannehill should play a lot of this game on his back. So going with the Browns makes sense.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Detroit Lions

• Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MIY
• NFL Odds: Falcons (-3.5) // Lions (+3.5)

Detroit is a popular play. The Lions opened at -3, but less than 24 hours after blowing a game against the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit is at -4.

The ATL beat Green Bay by a point as a +2 home dog in their last. The Falcons have the type of rushing attack led by Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier that will keep the ball out of Jared Goff’s hands. Go with the Southern Birds to cash.

New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
• Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI
• NFL Odds: Saints (+3.5) // Packers (-2.5)

How will Jordan Love handle the Saints’ defensive pressure? That’s the big question. Unless New Orleans suffers injuries in their Monday night game versus the Panthers, New Orleans should have the edge in this one.

After watching Sean Payton coached Denver implode after building a 21-3 lead over Washington on Sunday, it’s impossible to back the Ponies versus the Fins. Sure, Payton is a good coach, or was, and, yes, Russell Wilson is a good quarterback, or was. You get what we’re saying.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Minnesota Vikings

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
• Where: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN
• NFL Odds: Chargers (-0.5) // Vikings (+0.5)

The Bolts blew another game, which means the Chargers will have zero confidence heading to Minnesota. The Vikings made a bunch of miscues and turnovers but still lost to the Eagles by just 6. Minnesota breaks out with an impressive win.

New England Patriots vs. New York Jets

• Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
• NFL Odds: Patriots (-3) // Jets (+3)

The Patriots’ defense did an excellent job holding the Dolphins to 24 points. The Patriot’s offense didn’t step it up versus Miami. Mac Jones could struggle against the Jets, but the Pats have the edge because Zach Wilson shouldn’t be starting at quarterback.

Buffalo Bills vs. Washington Commanders

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
• Where: FedExField, Landover, MD
• NFL Odds: Bills (-6.5) // Commanders (+6.5)

Buffalo played great to demolish the Raiders. But on Sunday, Josh Allen and his crew head to D.C. to take on a Commanders squad that rallied and beat Denver on the road. Allen will have trouble versus the best defensive line in the NFL. Taking the 6.5 points makes sense.

2023 NFL Week 3 Pick: Washington Commanders

Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
• Where: EverBank Stadium, Jacksonville, FL
• NFL Odds: Texans (-9.5) // Jaguars (+9.5)

The key play in Jags versus Chiefs was Doug Pederson calling a quarterback bootleg on the 1- yard line instead of using 3 straight plays to run up the gut. If the Jags had scored a TD on that series, who knows?

In any case, Jacksonville knows they blew a shot to take down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Jags release the full force of their frustrations onto C.J. Stroud and the Texans.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
• Where: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD
• NFL Odds: Colts (+7.5) // Ravens (-7.5)

Gardner Minshew is a decent quarterback. So much so that although the Ravens have played great in 2 games, it’s difficult to back Baltimore at -7.5 versus the Colts. Indy’s defense is decent and if Minshew plays within the confines of the offense or, better yet, Anthony Richardson misses zero time due to suffering a concussion, the Colts cover.

Carolina Panthers vs. Seattle Seahawks

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 4:05pm EST.
• Where: Lumen Field, Seattle, WA
• NFL Odds: Panthers (+4.5) // Seahawks (-4.5)

Carolina’s offensive line is a disaster, but the Panthers will bring the better defense into this game. The key is how Seattle responds at home after rallying in overtime to beat the Lions in NFL Week 2. Our guess is Seattle lays an egg. Seahawks may win, but they don’t win by more than 3.

2023 NFL Week 3 Pick: Carolina Panthers

Chicago Bears vs. Kansas City Chiefs

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 4:25pm EST.
• Where: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
• NFL Odds: Bears (+13) // Chiefs (-13)

12.5 points feels like a lot. But it’s so difficult to back the Bears. Chicago’s offense should be better than it is. The defense is a complete disaster. So Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will throw up TD after TD.

However, this game is difficult to handicap. Why? The Chiefs were terrible against the spread last season. So although it's Chicago, taking the points is the play.

2023 NFL Week 3 Pick: Chicago Bears

Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals

• When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 4:25pm EST.
• Where: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ
• NFL Odds: Cowboys (-12.5) // Cardinals (+12.5)

The Cardinals play with a lot of emotion. Arizona might be the hardest trying team in the NFL. Emotion and trying hard won’t be enough to block the hurricane that is Micah Parsons.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Las Vegas Raiders

• Where: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV

The Raiders have the more experienced quarterback and this happens on their field. Vegas gets the win and cover.

Baker has thrown for 490 yards and 3 touchdowns without a pick. The Buccaneers’ defense is playing better than the Eagles’ D and Philadelphia has yet to get their offense going like they did last season. Back Tampa to cash.

The Rams have a lot of young players that put forth a great effort. But on Monday, LAR faces a desperate 0-2 Cincinnati squad.

Joe Burrow is banged up. No problem. What Cincinnati must do is stick to the basics. If they do that, they win this by 6 to 7.
