American Cori “Coco” Gauff attempts to stamp her ticket to the 2024 Australian Open Women’s Finals on early Thursday morning when Coco steps onto the court to take on Aryna Sabalenka. The 2-seed, that’s Sabalenka, is a solid -200 moneyline choice. After Gauff and Sabalenka settle things, upstarts Dayana Yastremska, who had to qualify for the Aussie Open, takes on Chinese rising star and 12-seed Zheng Qinwen. Which women march to the finals with a shot to lift 2024’s first major tennis tournament trophy? Keep reading for tennis odds, analysis, and free picks for Gauff versus Sabalenka, and Qinwen taking on Yastremska.

2024 Australian Open Women’s Semifinals Matchups

Coco Gauff vs. Aryna Sabalenka

  • When: Thursday, Jan 25. at 3:30am ET

Only twice this tournament has Gauff had to play more than a couple of sets. Coco required a tiebreaker to win the first set over Caroline Dolehide in her second round match. After winning the tiebreaker, Coco cruised in the second set 6-2.

Then in the quarterfinals, Marta Kostuk pushed Gauff, forcing a tiebreaker set in the first and then winning a tiebreaker 7-3 in the second set. But in the third, Coco rallied with a dominating 6 games to 2 victory.

No doubt, Gauff is playing excellent tennis. However, she faces a player that’s on fire in the semis.

Forget losing sets or having to play in tiebreakers. Aryan Sabalenka has yet to lose more than 3 games in any set at the 2024 Aussie Open. The excellent performance includes dominating Barbora Krejcikova 6-2, 6-3 in the quarters.

Gauff, though, has beaten Sabalenka in 3-of-5 matches, including taking her down at the U.S. Open. But this feels different. Sabalenka is on a mission. So although Coco can win this, the chalk gets the nod.

2024 Australian Open Pick: Coco Gauff +3.5 -115

Dayana Yastremska vs. Zheng Qinwen

  • When: Thursday, Jan 25. at 5:00am ET

Although she had to qualifying for the first major of the year, the underdog in this is playing lights out. Dayana Yastremska has lost a single set and played one tiebreaker during the 2024 Aussie Open.

Yastremska’s lost set came versus 18-seed Victoria Azarenka in her fourth round match. Dayana bounced back in the third set to take down Azarenka 6-4.

Then in the quarters, Yastremska was an underdog versus the women that knocked out Iga Swiatek, 19-year-old Linda Noskova. The Ukrainian beat the teenager 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets.

Zheng Qinwen, the 21-year-old Chinese phenom, dropped the first set in her quarters match against Alina Kalinskaya. But after losing the first set, Qinwen rolled in the next two sets, winning the second 6-3 and the third 6-1. Qinwen is at the top of her game. The favorite not only wins, but she covers.

2024 Australian Open Pick: Zheng Qinwen -3.5 -112
