Why Bet on the Buffalo Bills?

A hard-fought battle against AFC East rivals the Miami Dolphins did not go the Buffalo Bills’ way, as it was the Dolphins who came out on top of their Week 3 showdown, 21-19. Buffalo failed to score on its final comeback drive in the fourth quarter, ceding the only unbeaten record in the AFC to Miami in the process.

On the bright side, the Bills are still widely regarded as the cream of the NFL crop in 2022. After all, MVP frontrunner Josh Allen continues to torch opposing defenses through the air. Allen threw a whopping 63 passes in Week 3 and completed 42 of them for 400 passing yards and a pair of touchdown passes. Buffalo’s offensive general is the first QB this season to crack the 1,000-yard passing mark and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Despite what the final score would suggest, the Bills’ defense was still at its A-game, holding Miami to just 212 yards of offense. It just happened that the Dolphins’ defense also came to play, sacking Allen four times and recovering a forced fumble off of the Buffalo gunslinger. Buffalo’s D still ranks tops in the league in average yards allowed per contest (214.0 YAPG) and fourth in scoring defense (12.7 PAPG), but will have a ton on its plate taking on a resurgent Baltimore offense this coming Sunday.

Why Bet on the Baltimore Ravens?

After losing a barn burner of a contest in Week 2 against the aforementioned Dolphins, the Baltimore Ravens took their frustrations out on another AFC East opponent this past weekend, soaring past the Patriots in New England, 37-26.

It was another mesmerizing performance for former NFL regular-season MVP Lamar Jackson, who accounted for five of his team’s offensive touchdowns; four through the air and one on the ground. Jackson finished with 218 passing yards and a whopping 107 rushing yards on just 11 carries as he makes an early case to reclaim the Most Valuable Player of the Year award this season.

Lamar’s offensive resurgence no puts the Ravens atop the league in points scored per game (33.0 PPG) and fourth in total offensive yardage (380.3 YPG). These stats act as a hard counter to the Bills’ own stifling defense, and it’ll be interesting to see which of these two potent offenses will break the opposing D on more occasions than the other in Week 4. Do note, however, that Baltimore’s defense ranks at the very bottom of the standings, having surrendered an average of 458 yards of offense to the opposition.

Bills vs. Ravens Betting Trends

  • The Bills are 4-2 in the last six regular-season road games (SU/ATS).
  • The Bills are 1-3 in the last four meetings against Baltimore (SU/ATS).
  • The totals went under in four of the last five matchups between these two teams.
  • The Ravens are currently on a four-game home losing streak (2-2 ATS).
  • The Ravens are 3-2 in the last five outings as home dogs (5-0 ATS).
  • The totals went over in four of those five games, with Baltimore being the home underdog.

Bills vs. Ravens Expert Betting Predictions

All eyes will be on the Jackson-Allen battle under center as the two elite QBs look to outgun the other. That being said, expect this blockbuster matchup to have more offensive production than normal, especially with the Ravens’ stop unit still looking rather questionable. Buffalo wins this crucial contest but just barely, with Baltimore within a field goal of either winning or tying the game down the stretch.
