Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week – October 13th, 2022

By Hank Blaine

Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr. run it back in one of Saturday’s most intriguing bouts. Earlier in the card, the Maloney brothers are in action. Also on Saturday, Gary Antonio Russell fights Emanuel Rodriguez on the undercard of Deontay Wilder versus Robert Helenius. See below for boxing odds, analysis, and free picks for six of this Saturday’s top boxing matches.

Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week (October 13th, 2022)

Haney vs. Kambosos 2 – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 15th, 2022. 10pm ET.

Jason Maloney vs. Nawaphon Kaikanha

24-2 with 19 knockout wins, Maloney’s last loss happened versus one of the top boxers on the planet, Nayoa Inoue. Nobody has touched “The Monster” in any of Inoue’s fights. So losing to him makes a lot of sense.

Maloney will outclass Nawaphon Kaikanha. No offense to the huge underdog, but Jason has fought the much better boxers. Still, Kaikanha is 56-1-1 with 46 knockouts. Boxers like Kaikanha don’t go down easy. Over is the play.

Boxing Betting Pick: Jason Maloney Over 7.5 -120

Andrew Maloney vs. Norbelto Jimenez // WBO International Super Flyweight Title

The other Maloney is also 24-2. Andrew hasn’t lost since facing Jonathan Franco in 2021. Since then, A. Maloney has won 3 straight.

Jimenez has a 31-9-6 record. The 31-year-old Dominican Republic pugilist shows 2 wins, 2 draws, and a loss in his last 5. Norbelto is a tough dude, but the odds make him an underlay. Maloney should have no trouble pocketing the W in this match.

Boxing Betting Pick: Andrew Maloney -357

George Kambosos Jr. vs. Devin Haney // Undisputed Lightweight Title

Kambosos is a tough guy but Haney is one of the most skilled boxers on the planet. George and Devin threw down in Sidney last time. Haney is so confident, he’s making the trip back to Australia to fight Kambosos in Melbourne on Saturday.

Devin won’t lose this bout. He has too much going for him. But it’s difficult to go over or under because Kambosos might be more aggressive in this one, which could lead to a knockout. If you want to bet the total rounds, consider under. Otherwise put a Haney money line into a parlay.

Boxing Betting Pick: Devin Haney -833

Wilder vs. Helenius – Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New YOrk

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 15th, 2022. 7pm ET.

Gary Antonio Russell vs. Emanuel Rodriguez

Undefeated Gary Antonio Russell hopes to leave no doubt in a rematch versus Emanuel Rodriguez. Russell and Rodriguez threw down in August 2021. The ref declared the bout a no-contest after an accidental head butt in the first round.

Since the head butt incident, Russell fought and beat Alexandro Santiago. Russell is 19-0 with 12 knockout wins. Rodriguez is 20-2 with 13 knockout victories. Emanuel has a ton of experience, but Russell is the now fighter.

Boxing Betting Pick: Gary Antonio Russell -227

Deontay Wilder Over 5.5 -120 vs. Robert Helenius Under 5.5 -120

Helenius is 31-3 with 20 knockout victories. Robert’s last loss happened back in 2019 in a bout against Gerald Washington. The big time underdog in this has beaten Adam Kownacki in 2 straight. Both victories came via TKO. Boxing fans shouldn’t expect Helenius wins his third straight.

The Nordic Nightmare goes up against former champ Deontay Wilder. Deontay’s 2 losses came at the hands of the great Tyson Fury. The champ, that’s Fury, is one of the best heayvweight’s in history.

So losing to Tyson makes sense. Wilder should have no trouble winning this and he should win it early since Helenius has suffered 2 knockout losses.

Boxing Betting Pick: Robert Helenius Under 5.5 -120
