Chiefs vs. Jets 2023 NFL Week 4 Odds, Preview & Pick
It’s a pity that we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the first-ever Patrick Mahomes vs. Aaron Rodgers showdown. Instead, we’ll have to settle for a Kansas City Chiefs road matchup against a spiraling New York Jets squad without Rodgers to make matters at its most interesting for Sunday Night Football. But hey, at least Taylor Swift will be in attendance, and during the primetime slot!
Nitrobetting is ready to take your bets into the end zone this 2023 NFL season. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Week 4 AFC clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets.

Why Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?
It was another typical winning day in the office for the Kansas City Chiefs, who manhandled the Chicago Bears at home in Week 3 with a lopsided final score of 41-10. As the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Chiefs are well into their “Anti-Hero” prime and have forgotten about their one-point upset to the Lions in Week 1 with ease.
Defending league MVP Patrick Mahomes had little to no issues dissecting the Bears’ secondary, throwing for three touchdowns and 272 yards on 24-of-33 passing without an interception. KC also had a ball trampling over Chicago on the ground, racking up 153 rushing yards and two rushing scores on 37 carries in large part to the combined effort of running backs Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
What makes the Chiefs even more frightening this season is that they seem to have vastly improved on defense. They rank fourth in the league in scoring defense, allowing just an average of 14.3 points per game to their opponents this season after the defense being their biggest liability throughout the Mahomes era.
Why Bet on the New York Jets?
Things are going from bad to worse for the New York Jets, who fell in their Week 3 divisional clash against the New England Patriots, 15-10. It’s easy for us to tell the Jets to just “Shake It Off” and move on from that loss, but matters are very bleak considering their horrible offense without Aaron Rodgers running the show.
Instead, New York fans were treated to more subpar play under center from Zach Wilson, who completed just half of his 36 pass attempts for 157 yards without a single TD. New England knew that it was going to be fine defending the Jets’ passing game, so the team shut down its opponent’s ground game just as well, with New York gaining merely 38 rushing yards on 22 carries for a paltry 1.7 yards-per-carry average.
On the bright side, the Jets’ defense held an opponent to 16 points or fewer for the second time this season. But as long as the offense sputters with Wilson under center, the defense will be gassed out quite often and there’s only so much that this New York D can handle before it starts to regress.
Chiefs vs. Jets Betting Trends

- The Chiefs are 7-2 in its last nine outings against AFC East teams (6-3 ATS).
- The totals went over in five of KC’s last six games against teams from this division.
- New York is 4-5 in the last nine home games (SU/ATS).
- The Jets are 1-5 in its last six contests versus teams from the AFC West (3-3 ATS).
- The totals went under in each of the last four home games by Gang Green.
Chiefs vs. Jets Expert Betting Predictions
This no doubt that the Chiefs should take this one, even if they’re double-digit favorites as the lines shift throughout the remainder of the week. The Jets are so bad that it’s pretty much “Safe and Sound” to bank on KC to cover the spread with an emphatic three-possession win, with Travis Kelce having a phenomenal game after being motivated by the fact that Swift will be cheering him on once more from the skybox in MetLife.
