Why Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?

The Chiefs faced their fair share of struggles early into the season. Head coach Andy Reid and company now hope to turn things around after a defeat to the Buffalo Bills in Week 5, 38-20. This puts the team at dead last in the AFC West, which came as a surprise to many considering their Super Bowl appearance last season.

In their losing efforts against the Bills, the team stayed competitive on paper and recorded 392 yards of offense. However, they committed a total of four turnovers by the end of the game. It was a major turning point that held the team back from closing the deficit.

Patrick Mahomes led his team with 272 yards on 33-of-54 passing with a pair of touchdowns and two interceptions. The quarterback also topped the rushing side with 61 yards on the ground on eight carries. Although the Chiefs failed to find the end zone with their rushing play, their receivers capitalized on several scoring opportunities. It was the duo of Travis Kelce and Byron Pringle that delivered a touchdown apiece after combining for 75 receiving yards on nine catches. Meanwhile, Mecole Hardman finished with a team-high 76 receiving yards on nine receptions.

Nick Bolton topped the defensive corps after producing six solo tackles, while the trio of Anthony Hitchens, Tyrann Mathieu, and Derrick Nnadi had four solo tackles each. However, what held the side back was their inability to secure a sack or snag a pick. This will play a crucial component in their efforts to better the Washington Football Team this Sunday afternoon.

Before everything else, the Chiefs have to fill the gaps left by players on the injury list. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill currently suffers from a minor knee injury, Travis Kelce is under observation after taking a nasty hit against the Bills, and Joe Thuney is likely to miss the game due to a fractured hand.

Why Bet on the Washington Football Team?

It’s a different story for the Football Team despite holding onto the same record as the visitors. At the time of this writing, the team sits right behind the NFC leaders, the Dallas Cowboys. They are tied with the Eagles at two wins and three losses, and this game puts them in danger of staying in the division’s basement.

Washington lost to the Saints by 11 points in Week 5. Although the score stayed close before the final quarter, they failed to close the deficit and allowed their opponents to score 13 straight points. Nonetheless, Taylor Heinicke finished with 248 yards on 20-of-41 passing with a couple of interceptions without a passing TD.

The Football Team executed effective rushing plays that gave way to two touchdowns courtesy of Antonio Gibson. Of Washington’s 131 total rushing yards, Gibson contributed 60 of those yards on 20 carries, while Taylor Heinicke was right behind him with 40 yards on five rushing attempts.

Although Washington ran more yards than their opponents (373 to 369), the team’s passing game failed to connect often that afternoon. Adam Humphries had a team-high 73 yards on three catches and it was a shame to see the wide receiver go scoreless that night. Meanwhile, DeAndre Carter had 62 yards on four receptions, followed by Terry McLaurin and Ricky Seals-Jones who combined for 87 receiving yards.

On defense, Cole Holcomb topped the list and found three solo tackles, four assisted tackles, and the only defensive interception of the side. Chase Young recorded the only other sack of the team on top of three combined tackles. Ultimately, it was another underwhelming performance from the Football Team considering their fantastic performance in the 2020 season.

It’s the offensive end that takes a hit as Curtis Samuel and Sam Cosmi are listed questionable in Week 6. Wide receiver Samuel might miss the game due to a groin injury, while Cosmi might be out for a few more weeks following an ankle injury.

Chiefs vs. Washington Expert Betting Predictions

The Chiefs don’t look right at the moment, but they still have the edge over Washington this weekend. Having a packed lineup helps with their advantage this weekend, and as long as they set the tone from the get-go, this should be a relatively straightforward contest for them to win. However, there’s no reason to overlook the Football Team in this matchup.

Covering the spread is achievable for the team if they start on a positive note and resolve injury issues before the game. More than that, a win is not off the table for head coach Ron Rivera and his squad with home-field advantage on their side.
