Why Bet on the Indianapolis Colts?

Last year, the Colts finished last in the AFC South with an 11-5 record. But that team will look considerably different this year with a new quarterback in Carson Wentz, who’s probably not going to see action this week due to a foot injury. In the Colts’ first preseason game, they beat the Carolina Panthers, 18-13. In Week 2, Indianapolis scored a 12-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings. On Friday, the Colts will try to secure a third win as they hit the road to face the Lions.

Jacob Eason has been the heart and soul of the team’s offense, logging 132 yards on 16-of-27 pass completions against the Vikings. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger did well to make sure his team stayed competitive as well. The 22-year-old rookie recorded 70 yards on 8-of-13 passing, with 2 interceptions to his name.

Over on defense, George Odum led the unit with 4, followed by Curtis Bolton and Bobby Okereke, who had 2 tackles (2 solos) on assists each. Ultimately, the team exhibits balance and depth that gives them the upper hand coming into the game.

Why Bet on the Detroit Lions?

The Detroit Lions will look to recover from a 26-20 loss at the hands of the Steelers. This records their second loss before the regular season and is an early wake-up call for new head coach Dan Campbell and his squad. After finishing 5-11 in the 2020 NFL season and last in the NFC North, fans are eager to see how the new program affects the team’s performance this year.

So far, it looks like the Lions pack a stronger punch with all of the changes. They almost pulled off a fourth-quarter comeback against the Steelers but were 6 points short of tying the game. Nonetheless, what we saw was a solid effort from the team and shows us that they are heading in the right direction.

Quarterback David Blough showcased his skills in their previous game, recording 143 yards on 12-of-17 passing. He also scored a touchdown in the process. Meanwhile, Craig Reynolds put up 29 yards on 5 carries with a touchdown to his name. Going over the defense, the duo of AJ Parker and Derrick Barnes registered 15 total tackles together. All aforementioned players remain pivotal in search of their first preseason win. Receiving was led by Tom Kennedy, who had four receptions for 61 yards.

Colts vs. Lions Expert Betting Predictions

After two weeks of NFL preseason action, it’s safe to say that the Colts enter the game as favorites. Winning two games gives the team favorable momentum and chemistry. However, playing in front of the Lions might add to the challenges, which leads us to believe that this is going to be another close contest for Indianapolis. Looking over the Lions’ side, having home-field advantage will relieve some of the pressure. Covering the spread is a possibility for the Lions, with slight chances of taking the game. Regardless, we look forward to another interesting matchup ahead of us.
