Quadruple Star Power from America’s Team
Widely considered as a top-10 quarterback in the league, it stands to reasons that the face of the Cowboys franchise in Dak Prescott is a perennial MVP candidate. Prescott is currently priced at (+2,200) to win the 2022 MVP award after throwing for over 4,400 yards for the second time in his career and also setting new career-highs of 37 passing touchdowns and a 68.8% completion percentage last season.
Dak is considered one of the more viable favorites to win the award, though. So in terms of actual sleepers with a lot more bang for the buck, one can look towards one of three dark horses that each currently share the same odds of (+15,000) to win the MVP award in running back Ezekiel Elliott, wide receiver Ceedee Lamb, and linebacker Micah Parsons.
Elliott’s been Prescott’s right-hand man since the two took over the Cowboys’ offense, with the six-year back putting up his fourth 1,000-yard rushing season and playing in all 17 regular-season games in 2021. Second-year wideout Lamb, meanwhile, hauled in 79 catches for 1,102 receiving yards and six touchdowns and will no longer have to share looks with Amari Cooper this season. Last but not least, Parsons took the NFL by storm last season as a rookie. The first-rounder out of Penn State won the 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award and was named a First-Team All-Pro after racking up 13 sacks, 84 tackles, and three forced fumbles.
Updated Cowboys’ Super Bowl 57 Odds
As of this writing, the Cowboys are +1,800 sleeper candidates themselves to win Super Bowl LVII. They’re the eighth-best team in the league based on these futures odds with the sixth-best odds amongst the entire field. Dallas is also the consensus +115 favorite to win the division title for the fifth time in nine seasons and is slightly ahead of the next best NFC East contender in the Philadelphia Eagles at +180.
