Why Bet on the Miami Dolphins?
There’s more sunshine than dark clouds in Miami these days, as the Dolphins made it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Granted, a 9-8 finish to the 2022 regular season was also their record the previous campaign before head coach Mike McDaniel stepped in. Nevertheless, McDaniel has given Dolphins fans reason to believe, thanks in large part to a rejuvenated offense.
Despite a few bouts with scary injuries once more, Tua Tagovailoa displayed his sheer potential to be a consistent top-10 quarterback in the league. Tagovailoa set new career highs in his third year in the NFL, throwing for over 3,500 yards, 25 touchdowns, and a QB rating of 105.5. Former Kansas City standout Tyreek Hill also found his new home in Miami just as comforting as Arrowhead, setting new personal bests himself with 117 catches and 1,710 receiving yards.
Other than Tua’s health issues being the biggest factor behind the Dolphins’s success this year, their average defense has got to step up as well. That could very well change for the better in an instant, as three-time first-team All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey arrives to turn around a porous Miami secondary.
Why Bet on the Los Angeles Chargers?
It was another heartbreaking way for the Los Angeles Chargers’ season to end in 2022. Los Angeles made the playoffs for the first time in the Justin Herbert era, but had a total meltdown in the playoffs by squandering a 27-point lead to the Jaguars in the wild-card round. Nevertheless, a 10-win campaign during the regular season leaves enough optimism that the Bolts will bounce back in stride.
Herbert finished last regular season with 4,739 passing yards and saw his completion percentage improve to 68.7 percent, earning him one of the most lucrative contract extensions in NFL history. The Chargers’ top-10 offense also had pass-catching back Austin Ekeler explode for new career-highs of 123 rushing touchdowns and a whopping 107 receptions out of the backfield.
On paper, LA’s defense should be as imposing as they come, with big names such as Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, and Derwin James headline this side of the ball. However, the Chargers’ D was average at best and was the culprit behind their epic collapse in the playoffs. Is the mere addition of former Minessota All-Pro linebacker Eric Kendricks enough of an upgrade to improve this supposedly imposing stop unit?

Dolphins vs. Chargers Expert Betting Predictions
This matchup is highly unpredictable indeed, especially with both Los Angeles and Miami’s defenses being highly questionable. We’ll have to side with the visiting underdogs in the Dolphins to take this one, with Hill having his way against the Chargers’ secondary like he was known to do back in his days in a Chiefs uniform and with Tagovailoa getting his revenge and outgunning Herbert in their rematch from last season.
