Why Bet on the Georgia Bulldogs?

There’s no stopping the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs from bulldozing past its competition this season. Kirby Smart has the boys from Athens playing at an optimum level, as the Bulldogs improve to 3-0 after the 40-13 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Georgia’s defense is second to none, as the team has allowed just an average of 7.67 points per game thus far, including holding the mighty Clemson Tigers to a mere field goal during the season opener. Even better news for the Bulldogs is that junior quarterback JT Daniels is back from his one-week absence due to injury and in good form at that.

Daniels completed 23 of his 31 passes for 303 yards and three passing touchdowns against a porous South Carolina defense. Can the Commodores contain a stellar Georgia offense that’s averaging over 520 yards on the attack? The current odds certainly speak for themselves.

Why Bet on the Vanderbilt Commodores?

After a narrow three-point road win in Week 2 over Colorado State, the Vanderbilt Commodores failed to capitalize on that momentum and fell flat at home this past week to the Pac-12’s Stanford Cardinal, 41-23. This was far from the desired outcome for the Commodores, who are now about to face a division rival that they haven’t been able to beat in quite some time.

Vanderbilt’s passing offense is still very flawed, as second-year QB Ken Seals threw his third pick of the season and went just 16-of-36 through the air for 120 passing yards against an average Cardinal defense. As such, the team will likely rely on running back Rocko Griffin to carry the load on offense. Griffin set a new career-high of 107 rushing yards in Week 3 and is itching to find the end zone for the first time this year.

Unfortunately, not only is Vandy’s next opponent as tough as they come, but the team has also been rendered futile in front of their home fans of late, as we’ll get into more detail below.

Georgia vs. Vanderbilt Betting Trends

  • The Bulldogs are 11-2 on the road during the regular season since 2018 (8-5 ATS).
  • The Bulldogs are 12-0 in their latest contests as double-digit favorites (6-6 ATS).
  • The totals have gone over in three of Georgia’s last four road games.
  • The Commodores are winless in their last seven regular-season home games (1-6 ATS).
  • The Commodores are 1-5 in their last six meetings against Georgia (3-3 ATS).
  • The totals have gone under in four of Vandy’s last five games against the Bulldogs.

Georgia vs. Vanderbilt Expert Betting Predictions

All the trends and signs point to a convincing victory for Georgia over a struggling Vanderbilt program. On the other hand, a five-possession spread is a rather high bar set for the Bulldogs to conquer and a revisited SEC rivalry has enough potential for Vanderbilt to cover. As we touched upon earlier, Vandy’s last six meetings against the Bulldogs were split down the middle against the spread.
